If you want a more accurate ability of someone's elo they should be playing a position they normally play.

I hate losing games because a teammate gets stuck in a position they dont play. Even pros stick with their practiced roles.

but do they play that role 100%? No. Hell, in champ select right now, i have to play as adc. I fucking suck at adc. Should I be better at adc before I move up in rank? Yes.

But they can play each role at a high diamond level. I'm not asking you to be top tier at every role, I'm asking for your other roles to be average for your elo.

Do you see quarterbacks of football teams also training to become wide receivers? No, no you dont.

Ranked team builder will remove the lost games because people getting stuck in positions they dont play.

Maybe not the quarterback, but I'm pretty sure a wide receiver could fill as a tight end or some shit edit: Also, in trick plays such as when the quarterback runs with the ball he has to act as a running back.

Most pros are at least high diamond level players of their off roles. For example, here's Voyboy:

I understand the whole "people need to broaden the roles they can play" but honestly im sick of someone getting stuck with a role they suck at because they didnt communicate with their teammates about it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Ranked Team Builder, if you dont like do not play it? I dont even understand how you have a problem with this mode. I dont like to play ARAM or Dominion, should i demand those be removed?

The players who only want to play their preferred roles will go to Ranked Team Builder, the players who can do any role will go to Ranked, it is better for both players all around.

When I read this, I see:

Where are we going to find enough supports to make RTB work?

Really? in every ranked game i have someone either calls support straight up or at least 2-3 people include Supp in their preffed roles, me included.

Most people can support they just would rather do something else, the problem isnt that no one wants to support its that in SoloQ Supp and ADC need to cooperate and its hard to do without communication. Thats why majority of the toxicness i see is between those two, at least this is the case in my games.

Personal experience: I'm a support main in diamond. I don't call support. If someone else does, I let them take it. I sometimes pick a different role if I see a good matchup. I still play support in about 70% of my games. I find that it is really super easy to get support, easy to get jungle, super hard to get mid, and adc and top are about equally spoken for.

I think this is true, but it doesn't help us. RTB requires 20% of players to choose support.

If you look at normal TB, it's an absolute disaster. The only way they get games started is by widening the MMR belt such that golds and diamonds are in the same game. We can't do that for ranked.

Idk if we can judge RTB by looking at TB, in Normal TB no one wants to Jungle or ADC but in Ranked we never have problems filling those roles. From my experience, someone calls ADC, then Mid is called next, Top, Support, and finally Jg. Mid and ADC tend to have more people contending for that role. So if you want to judge RTB i think its best to look at Ranked, Jg will be the only issue i can see as it is the least called role, someone just sort of fills it.

I agree, things will likely be different in RTB than TB. The thing is, I have no particular evidence to suggest that different will be better. Different may well be worse -- with LP on the line, people may be even less inclined to play a role that isn't their main.

I play out of my comfort zone alot, for ex in ranked I'm best a jungler, but I'm fine with playing any other place. However, you play ranked to win right? So why should you be forced to play a position you're no good at just because 1st pick wants your role.

I agree, you should be able to play every role in some capacity.

Ranked is NOT where you want to do that. I suck at jungle. If I were to ever be forced into jungle in a ranked game I would have to be carried hard. More likely tho is that I would be flamed and reported for being forced to play a role I told them I suck at. Pro basketball players never play football at a professional level.

But its gonna be fun waiting for 20 minutes for a support to queue up with your support.

While you should be at least versatile in at least 3 roles (which actually makes for the best, because being good in all 5 isn't easy most the time, some can do it) I think the idea of Rank Team Builder is a fine thing. You go in and select a Primary Role with a Secondary Alternative, it'll try to queue people up based on their Primary Role preferred then use the Secondary if they need to once in group to allocate for that extra needed position that hasn't been filled yet.

When I go into Ranked I always (copy-pasta) the following phrase "Mid pref! Sup/Jung Secondary" so then people get the idea that my main is the Mid which is where I'll be best fit at while I can also perform decently at Support or Jungle. I would go into adding "Least Pref ADC/Top" but that's a lot but it should be up to players to communicate their 1st/2nd/3rd roles at least so then people can work it around. If a player doesn't communicate anything in the time of banning then that is on them for being stuck with a role they cannot play if they are at the bottom of the pick order and not talking.

The one thing about Ranked is that people need to get through their head, it's a game about team communication, if you lack it you're going to hinder yourself a lot. It's a Team Game and everyone needs to work together to win.
