To those of you looking to play Taliyah in ranked today,
Don't, you asshole. statistically you're going to lose and waste other people's elo.
Edit: literally the first game I queued in today had a teammate pick Taliyah...[slayer-jinx-unamused]

Dont worry you team should have enough sense to ban her so a teammate won't pick her.
Do it. Do it hard.
Regardless of its wisdom, people can do what they want. And there are some people who can pick up champs quickly, and its always fun landing against an oppo ent who has no idea what the hell you can do.

So your logic is WHATEVA WHATEVA I DO WHAT I WANT
Yeah you're still an asshole dude

Not really. Assuming I picked a new champ in ranked, and I have, I generally have played at least one not game to see how the kit works.
Is this deep knowledge? No. But I'm in bronze. So that still gives me a big advantage over my opponent who isn't going to be familiar with what the champ does. And just because I may be playing a new champ doesn't mean I'll feed. The basics of the game prevent you from feeding, not a champs kit.
I'm still going to ward often, try to not make stupid mistakes. And if I do, it won't be because I am unfamiliar with the champ, it will be just because I fucked up and did so.etching stupid, plain and simple.
And I. The end what does it matter. Ranked really means nothing. None of us are going to be the next Faker and make money. If you are going to climb, your going to climb. If not, you won't. So.eone picking a new champ shouldn't matter for your fun, and people can have fun however they choose.
Lighten up.
I'm still going to ward often
WTF are you doing in bronze?
Dynamic Queue.
Wtf is he doing on boards while he's bronze?
maybe he wants to leave meaningful comments regarding the things he knows?
Wards mean nothing if you don't make use of the knowledge gained. Or you don't look at the map
Probably just doesn't play too often to get out of bronze. Or makes some immense mistakes in other areas (IE: Toaster Computer, or Bad Mechanics).
your logic is "everyone has to follow my rules" it's the same thing. them wanting to play a new champ that they may or may not be good at has nothing to do with their character/personality.
Well, if you are allowed to go offmeta in ranked, you should be allowed to pick new champions too.
Just as you generalize all people playing a new champ to be feeders who will do poorly, metabreaking players are generalized to be trolls.
At least play her in normals for a few days before you go into ranked so you can become familiar with her kit, runes, masteries, and item builds. Don't be that guy in ranked on the first day of a new champion's release.
I personally don't care if you have 100 hours of playtesting with Taliyah on the PBE. New champions in ranked on their opening week come with a certain stigma.
Um no. If i pay riot my hard earned Rp, Ima play her whereever the hell i want.
Why would you play a new champ in ranked?
why did you play lucian, blitz, sona, kayle, zed, shen, leona or ekko in ranked? You had 0 games on them you shouldn't have played them. And you only won 3 of them.
You play the motherfuckers on normals first. Did you forget that exists? On top of that when a new champion comes out they have no meta so it takes a week or so before people actually work out the proper build paths, spell max order, and techniques.
Because I play them a lot?..
That was also one of the dumbest things I've heard, all the champs you've named I've mastered. Zed, Ekko, and Shen are my top three.
it was your first time bringing any of them in ranked though.
Yeah but I am very familiar with all of them, I don't champs I haven't played before in ranked. Nice try though.
That is exactly why people shouldn't be able to play ranked unless they have level 3 mastery on a champion.
No matter how many times you parrot your shitty idea on the boards, it's not going to make it any better. I know for a fact I've already explained this to you a bajillion times, but in case I wasn't clear the first gazillion times, let me explain again.
If Riot took your past match history into account, that would be one thing, but they didn't. I haven't played Ziggs since Riot kneecapped him back in season 4, but I'm confident I have well over 50 games under my belt with him. I'm currently only halfway through mastery 1, but the last game I played with him I went 6/3/8 against a Yasuo while his jungler camped the shit out of my lane. Under your proposed system, I cannot play a champion that is one of the few mid lancers I can play well because of some arbitrary requirement. Does that sound fair to you?
So you had a good game. Do you really want to play a ranked game with someone who hasn't played a champ in two years?
Do you think that everyone magically forgets how to play a champion after a certain amount of time? Let me tell you, outside of whiffing Ziggs Q multiple times (which is Riot's fault for making the ability have such a shitty detonation radius, I'm talking the exact opposite problem that LeBlanc and Morgana have), I played really damn well that game. People don't just forget how to do something so basic.
And what about people who play extremely easy champions like Garen or Master Yi? Should I be banned from playing him in ranked even though he has the lowest skill ceiling in the game? Should I be barred from ranked with Master Yi because I'm not Cowsep?
Or.. new champions should not be playable for the 1st week in ranked. Problem solved.
But what happens when some noob buys the champ after the first week?
That would cause serious issues for players with multiple accounts though.
Smurfing is shunned apon anyway...
Its more like a 50/50 remember when ekko came out? much elo was won that day by thouse who braved to test the new champion. some people will pick her up fast and right now if you do have the advantage of people not knowing what she does or how to outplay her

No you asshole, she was released today. That means all the bronze/silver kids can't look up Taliyah on probuilds and copy and paste, and they're incapable of creating good builds or runes on their own. Just fucking don't.
Even if YOU pick her up fast, your team will not be used to playing with her or to her strengths. Ranked is a tryhards game, and anyone who says otherwise needs to stop playing it, because playing ranked without that mindset will get you flamed. Rightfully so. You are handicapping your team for no reason. You cannot be a Taliyah main on her release day. Pick your best champion, and TRY HARD to win. That is what is expected of you in ranked. Don't be an asshole.
You guys really like to gernalize without looking shit up. builds were out for her before she came out. im bronze and i have a 80% win rate with her . http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=angryblackwing She isnt hard build her right. and land skill shots and your good .

Ekko had like a 44% win rate on release lmao.
I mean yeah but if you are in bronze most of that doesn't matter you can win playing AD Annie as long as you make good decisions

Just picking Taliyah in ranked on her release day will tilt at least a few of your teammates. You're hurting your chances to win if you pick her in ranked today, it's just fact. Just don't. Arguing against it won't change anything.
http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=angryblackwing 80 % win rate with her. won 4v5. lost the 2 games due to bad decisions.
Sorry bro I have to because if I don't the enemy team will.

Lmao, understandable
You're gonna have to play her for the first time in ranked eventually.
Today, tomorrow, six years from now. Statistically speaking, picking anything but the top 3 win rate champions for their roles puts your team at a disadvantage.
What if a player says that he or she played her on the PBE?
Considering your name, this thread is funny.
Seriously though, I've seen 3 Taliyah's in ranked today. All 3 lost. 1 even lost to a Blitzcrank mid. I don't understand why people would take a champ into ranked on release day but whatever floats their boat.
The only reason someone SHOULD is if they played her a lot in PBE. But it's none of my business what other people do.
You realize most people that enjoy ranked just play a champion once in a custom or normal game and then just go to ranked anyway?
Does it really matter?
Whoo. I am "That guy"
However my team did win, just floundered for the first 10 minutes trying to figure out how W works.
Wow. You didn't even bother to figure out how the spells work first. You're worse than "that guy".
Letsee...What did I know about her kit in great detail before even playing her.
Passive, Movement speed out of combat near terrain! Q, Shoots 5 projectiles, lots of damage for one move, creates worked earth that provides a small MS bonus while on to of it but only shoots one projectile if Q is casted on it. The worked earth lasts 3 minutes and the duration of the worked earth is reduced by CDR.
W, delayed ground target skillshot, distance from target does not effect travel time. I simply didn't know if I had to recast it, aka press w again, or press w and then click. Where Right click opts out of giving it a direction.
E, the Trap stones that do have good base damage if you want to throw on them on minion waves but takes forever to detonate if you don't proc them
R, Huge global tier skillshot that creates a 6 second wall, abstructs and pushes aside everyone, recast to ride.
Now the only other thing I didn't know until I played her is that you can cast E AND W while the lucian style Q is going off, that is it.
I am so amazed and baffled by this intricate kit.
Ya it's not like theirs a pbe where some of us practice a new champion many times over
Yea because the people you face on PBE are all totally giving it their best effort. Considering the lag, free skins, and lack of any incentive to actually win, I guess PBE works as a training ground for you to gauge the strength of the brand new champion and determine how good they will be in your ranked games right?

So how is practice in normals better then practicing on the pbe before ranked normals same issues no incentive to win etc etc and free skins? Lol didn't know skins=bonus powers
And on a side note most pbe players had to keep playing against fizz on the pbe because of the new skin an immobile Mage vs fizz those taliyahs got some good practice in
