The ADC problem: Crit ADC vs. Non-Crit ADC. Adaptability and the power vacuum
ADCs is a very controversial role. Some hate them, some like it. One thing we can agree is that they're flawed and the way Riot changes the game around them is flawed. There are 2 main groups of ADCs:
Crit - MF, Jinx, Ashe, Sivir, Draven, etc Non-Crit - Ezreal, Lucian, Varus (?), etc
Of course an ADC can be either one of the specified categories above, depending on how you build them, but I'm sure a Lucian with Black Cleacer will be more affective than a Lucian with Infinity Edge. Anyway, CriT ADCs feel very strong and, as the community says, they can burst you with no counterplay. This why people disliked the Ardent Censor Meta and wanted the role be reworked. Funny, because before people discovering Ardent Censor, people were making "lol adcs 2k17" memes and how weak they were. But the Ardent Censor Metar shows one good thing about ourselves: we are very adaptable. A role that was getting memed got the spotlight back because we learned more about the game and a previously ignored item was enough to bring ADCs back. Of course, people disliked this so Ardent Censor got nerfed and ADCs reworked and made weaker. Again, we had to adapt. When Crit ADCs are strong, Lucian and Ezreal are not the best pick: Lucian simply does not have the range and Ezreal does not have the damage for them to compete with Crit ADCs, although they compensate this with their mobility and diverse build paths. With Crit ADCs in a bad spot, it's time for this boys to shine. Problem: since there are very few Non-Crit ADCs, this guys feel like they are spammed everywhere and that they are too strong so the community wants them nerfed. I don't think they were too strong, they just weren't as bad as the other ADCs. When you loose a game agaisnt Ezreal, it's hardly him that carried the game and did a Penta or whatever. He just played safe and didn't die during laning phase. Anyway, the Non-Crit ADCs now feel strong and the community wants them nerfed but this will lead to the Crit ADCs feeling strong again so the community will want them nerfed too but now the Non-Crit ADCs feel strong again so they must be nerfed again but... It's a never ending cycle of nerfs and no one will be happy. In my opinion, let both types be strong and give us time to adapt and learn how to play against them. Like in Starcraft, Zerg were better than Protoss until this one guy learned a new way to turn things around and now Protoss is the better side. This is really hard to happen in LoL because when something is strong the community wants to shut it down as soon as possible but there will always be a power vacuum. If X was strong and now isn't, Y will take it's place. If Y was strong and now isn't, Z will take it's place. If Z was strong and now isn't, X may be strong now in comparision. Doen't matter how many champions Riot nerfs, there will always be someone to take that champion's place. We need to learn and adapt and try to do our best, regardless of the enemy or else there wouldnt be tournaments or rankeds or anything. Why would Leganés ever want to play agaisnt Real Madrid if they're gonna loose anyway? That might be the most likely scenario but they may also surprise everyone and win. To conclude, we shouldn't overreact whem something seems strong that we need to have a little more patience in adapting to new changes or else we will neber be happy with anything.
P.S: Image completly unrelated. Just wanted to attract the Ahri mains and the KDA weebs :p [slayer-jinx-wink] P.S.S: Sorry for any gramatical mistake.
