Another Yasuo suggestion

Just throwing ideas out here:

What if we removed his double crit and reduced crit damage passive, and added this as a passive to his E:

Dashing through an enemy grants Yasuo 5/10/15/20/25% critical strike chance. This bonus can stack up to 2x. This bonus crit lasts as long as he can hold gathering storm, and the duration resets with each cast of sweeping blade.

Then have Q gathering storm duration increase with rank. Either 6/7/8/9/10 seconds or 6/6.5/7/7.5/8 seconds. That way he still has a reason to max Q potentially?

Just some random thoughts.

This change could potentially weaken his 1v1 in scenarios where there isn't a minion wave, but even still makes the 100% crit rate have a small ramp up time.

bump?

Ahh this is an idea. It would be a nice middle ground between forcing Yasuo to build more than 2 crit items and removing it entirely... I would change it to enemy champions though, or perhaps make it stack using his Q also and have it ramp up 3-5 times?

The thing with "champion only" is that it limits him in 1v1 fights too much. Because of the cooldown, its already limiting when fighting in river or jungle, which becomes a point of counter play when fighting him.

Having it ramp up slower would also be somewhat problematic, as Crits are his primary damage amp and he is supposed to be a late game carry.

As it stands with this suggestion, he wont have 100% crit with 2 items till lvl 9 IF he maxes E, level 13(?) if he maxes it second. With a small ramp up time and a drop off between fights.

In lane, you obviously want to wait for the crit passive to fall off before fighting him to have a short window where he doesnt have it. The only REAL problem with my suggestion is that it DOES (much like Tryndamere) give Yasuo access to (albeit very small amounts) crit chance early game. Which is one of the weaknesses of the double crit passive, is that he has ZERO crit until he buys.

Why can't the timer just be extended then? Make it similar to Fervor or Jhin's 4th shot.

I understand that "champion only" won't work if only E stacks it, but why not Q as well? Not saying you need to let Q stack it, just genuinely curious.^^"

Going down that road, you could also decide whether his Q always gives a stack or if it only gives a stack if the champ is the direct target (since Q through minions doesn't draw aggro, should he still get the crit stack?) All stuff to think about.

Could also put it as a per-lvl bonus through a passive like Darius. Doesn't need to be on E.

There's also another option: make it like Riven's Runic blade. So good Yasuos would get more damage if they manage the auto-weaving between their blade tricks.

There's a lot of stuff to pick from; part of why I enjoyed exploring Yasuo's GU options.

oh for sure, the thing about extended trades, is that if he isnt the only one in the fight :P the longer his damage has to ramp up, the longer he has to die, and as a carry, especially in the late game, You dont want to have him stacking 4 or 5 times for his PRIMARY damage amp is all.

Got it. How about this:

Stacks up to 5 times. E on a champ is worth 2, direct Q is worth 2, and indirect Q is worth 1?

Thing is, with his already conditional kit, it makes his late game hilariously weak for a melee carry (and he already has the weakest lategame dps of melee carries).

And I know that he can stack up quickly, but that little bit of time is the difference between being able to function, and being deleted every fight.

I agree, but I am also suggesting removing his crit damage penalty. Which plays a part in it as well. So tradeoffs? :/

He would need some heavy buffs to his base hp, scaling hp, armor, and mr for it to be a viable change
