Mages aren't the issue. Preseason ADC nerfs and CoC are to blame. Early game is more dominant now and those mages are great at it, while ADCs need an item spike to be relevant. That's why most ADCs are going for Lethality now. That is also the reason it got buffed and CoC got a nerf.

Meta is in a weird place.

Lucian has troubles against mages but he's by no means weak, adapt and don't all in the champions whose all in is stronger than yours...
