@RIot, Soraka is going the way of Mordekaiser

Riot, I'm determined to become the Malicious Metal of the Soraka playerbase. I will never shut up about the way you're treating Soraka.

First, A quick glance over her history for her Heals:

Initial Release: W was a large Heal over time much Like Warlock's (Dota/Dota 2) Heal/Damage. R remains as it has, a giant global heal. Unlike today, it was a flat amount with incredibly strong ratio

Over time: W is reworked into a large, instant giant heal nuke. The amount it healed for and it's AP ratio change often With the Support overhaul to give Supports Scaling AP ratios on their utility, Soraka's Heal is nerfed in base, and now grants armor. (this is where Lulu kind of got broken as all hell)

Later, Soraka's First major Rework takes place, making Soraka the banana slinging Healer we know and love* today.

Coming up/ on the PBE: Soraka's 5th? (I've lost track of her minor reworks) minor overhaul Q: Now is a tiny (Think Syndra Q) AoE that has a minor slow and pitiful damage and AP ratio on it. Now grants a buff that restores Health and Mana over 5 seconds. W: Massively reduced base heal amount because her Q buff that she gets for landing Q can now be given to her ally. E, R: remain unchanged

Soraka's gone through more changes to her kit than any other champion in the game. Her E alone has gone through numerous changes. First it was able to be cast on self or allies to grant a flat amount of mana. Soraka got twice as much if she cast it on herself. That was nerfed so she only got the same amount as if she cast it on allies. Then self casting was removed entirely. Then they made the mana restore scale with Soraka's own mana. Then they completely removed her E and replaced with her AoE Silence field (Which still has a .25 second update timer for measuring if someones in the zone so people can still flash and cast spells in it if they do it quick enough)

Riot let's have a conversation about how "Healing" in general is considered in this game.

HEALING League of Legends is a game where the primary objective is to destroy the enemy Nexus. pretty straight forward. However, you attempt this why simultaneously defending your own Nexus. The easiest way to defend, while also gaining a window to attack, is to kill your opponents. So, in this manner, Killing opponents, is considered a "Secondary Objective"

Naturally, Things that Delay or negate these primary or secondary objectives are frustrating to play against. Fortify back in seasons 1-3, Soraka, Mundo Ult, Revive.

Nobody likes to play against unkillable structures or champions. While Soraka herself is not unkillable, her entire design is meant to literally STOP the secondary objective of killing the enemy team, impossible. As such, she's going to be one of the most frustrating champions to play against.

In the past, Grievous wounds has acted as a reasonable countermeasure to Soraka by negating her healing ability. However, when Grievous wounds was reworked for pre-season 6, Soraka instantly became one of the most OP champions in League of legends essentially overnight.

Riot, as you go through attempting to "Change" soraka, You'll find that Having a pure healer in League of Legends will never be considered "Healthy" in a way players will accept. Because the Secondary Objective, is to kill opponents (And it feels rewarding to do so), Soraka, by her very nature, will be considered "Cancer", "Broken", "OP", "Annoying" and such simply because she stops the Secondary Objective from occurring.

What Can Be Done If you want to make it so that Soraka can exist in a healthy manner, You only need to provide a way to play against her heals. Right now the only option is "Blow up Soraka". Every rework you do in Season 6 with the reworked Grievous wounds will simply have the same issues: Soraka's good? Permabanned in Soloqueue; Soraka's weak? Unplayed and you get raged at for playing her.

The best solution is to add a new upgrade to Executioner's Calling, and an alternative to Morellonomicon

Behold: "Torturer's Serrated Blade" Build: Executioner's calling + Serrated Dirk + 600 gold = 2500 Stats: +40 AD +10 Armor Pen

Unique Passive: Unclosable Wounds - Basic attacks and Physical damage inflict "Severe Wounds" to the target for 3 seconds

Severe Wounds - Severe wounds reduces all regenerative effects to the target by 40%. This includes self healing, Health regeneration, and outside heals

"Book of Plague" Build: Fiendish Codex + Forbidden Idol + Amp Tome + 615 gold = 2400 Stats: +70 AP +100% Base Mana Regen +20% Cool Down Reduction

Unique Passive: "Infliction" - Inflicts "Incurable Disease" to targets that take magic damage while below 40% HP. "Incurable Disease" causes all outside healing to the target to be reduced by 50%

(Note: The Unique Passive Of Morellonomicon would now be named "Infliction" to prevent people from just stacking both items for cheap 150 AP, 200% Mana Regen, capped CDR, and the ability to block all healing by 40%. It would make people choose between the two)

Let's look at what these items do. "TSB" would allow an AD champion to counter Teams that have loads of regeneration from healers and self sustainers. This is in essence, a slightly weaker version of the old Grievous Wounds. BoP would force an AP champion to pick which Mana/CDR item they want. Grail for more defensive ability, Morellonomicon to handle self healers, or Book of Plague to deal with Support healers like Raka, Nami, Sona, Taric, Janna.

Overall, this would actually reduce the frustration people have with Raka, as they now have more options other than "Wait for Raka to use all her HP healing her allies then blow her up"

Please, consider other options other than simply overhauling Soraka for the umpteenth time.

*I know people love to hate soraka.

Also, Threads by me on the PBE that have some upvotes, people agreeing with my analysis of the current iteration of Soraka on the PBE: http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-feedback/hixpVPZu-actual-feedback-on-soraka

If Healing is so bad because it thwarts the secondary objective of "Killing the Opponents," Then so are shields, stuns, silence, dashes, armor, magic resist, health regen, polymorph, taking damage, dying, invulnerability and bonus HP. In essence, the entire champion roster negates this secondary objective. Soraka doesn't need to be gutted. She needs to be balanced. When Riot overhauls items or afflictions or even mathematics in the game, it's like a domino effect and so many other unforseen things are affected by one little tweak. What this signifies is that Riot needs to cook things much much longer in the PBE before letting it go live so that they can see what long term butterfly effects occur when they make these changes. My opinions for fixing Soraka would be to simply shift her heals from flat healing to heals over time, similar to what they're moving toward with this tweak of hers on the PBE. I wouldn't have saddled her own self preservation and that of saving an ally into the same, transferred buff, as that puts her and her ally on dangerously thin ice if she can't afford to land her Q. I would have simply made all healing from W be a HOT, as HOTs are easier to play against since your opponent still has a good chance of killing you or your target before the heal gets you back to safety.

Out of all the things you listed, the only things that do not also Help secure the "Secondary Objective" are Shields, Regen and Invuln and of course, Taking Damage and Dying.

Let's go over what does help

Stuns lock a person in place so that you or your team may secure the kill, and thus push an advantage towards securing the Primary objective. Silence, keeps a person from using their abilities so that you can again, secure "Secondary Objective" Dashes, and mobility in general also are dual sided. Resistances, while providing increased survivability, some tanks scale their damage with their Resistances, (Taric, Rammus, Malphite, Galio) Polymorph, again is CC, and is used to help secure Secondary Objective. Polymorph is also reduced by Tenacity.

Because all these things are usable by both teams, and have many counters in the form of Cleanse, QSS/Mercurial, Mikael's Crucible, Flash, Ghost, Boots/MS Items, and the like, people don't complain about them (With few exceptions).

Shields are not frustrating because they're only TEMPORARY deflections of damage. With very few exceptions, most shields aren't frustrating enough to cause people to beg for every shield to be nerfed. Health Regen is a very LONG term form of Damage Deflection, Outside of Warmogs, Regen is not an effective way to deflect damage.

Healing and Shields and Invulns are entirely designed about stopping your own death because dying is a direct failure for the Secondary Objective. Your own death delays your success.

Invulns are also way more rare. Only 4(5 if you include some Pseudo invulns) are on champion kits with another being locked behind a 3500 gold cost item.

Healing is usually very slow, but very LARGE instances of instant health amounts granted. There are currently 6 champions with a heal that can affect allies, with 1 item, 1 summoner spell that grants a heal.

Soraka, Nami, Sona, Janna, Taric, Kayle, Mikael's Crucible, and Heal.

Nami's heal is locked behind a 11 second cooldown, 130 mana cost, but provides a solid 185(+.3 AP), and can actually increase if enough AP is built, and also doubles as damage. Sona's Heal is 100 mana cost, 110(+.2 AP) Flat amount with a heal increase by .5% by each 1% HP that the target is missing, while also granting a shield. Taric's Heal is 100 mana, 220(+.3 AP)(+.05 of Taric's bonus HP) flat amount. Janna's is an AoE Channel with insane potential, but it's also an ult. Kayle's Is a heal + MS channel at 100 Mana, is a 240(+.45 AP) Heal with a 30(+.07 AP)% MS haste.

As it is, Soraka's Heal, is bordering being barely better than the other host of heals. The only thing is, Soraka's only job is healing. Nami also has CC and teamfight power, Sona has poke and hard engage, Taric is a tank with CC, Janna is the queen of disengage, Kayle is Utility DPS.

The big thing about Soraka, is that All her power is in her heals, or essentially "Negating" the "Secondary Objective". All the other healers, have other forms of Helping secure the "Secondary Objective" (Janna is an exception). Because of their large costs of delaying the "Secondary Objective" and primary focus on Securing the "Secondary Objective", most of them are not points of frustration among the community.

the heal over time is dumb, the whole point of landing Soraka Q is to dump everything you earned back into your team asap

I hope they gut soraka she's had her time in the limelight time for her to become the new Gallo

Except, Tahm has been in the limelight in both Competetive and Soloqueue essentially since his release, If anything, longer than Soraka has been in the limelight as an annoying frustrating champion in ONLY soloqueue.

Even with Grievous Wounds, Soraka's healing is still difficult to beat late-game unless you have someone dedicated to stamping out Soraka before the fight even starts. Now she's slightly less adept at clutch healing, especially when it's to save her own skin.

CrazedPorcupine2 votes

the problem is, Grievous wounds no longer affects heals from outside sources, this is why Soraka is considered Broken right now and cancerous, beause despite her heals not having gone up in strength at all since her rework, the lack of any way to mitigate them is the true point of frustration.
