Ezreal is just a confusing champ
So.. Ezreal is a caster marksman right? Which is kind of a weird concept by itself. That being said, he has a passive that is effectively unused. Why? It seems to me that his harass mechanics have been a little over weighted so that he rarely uses autos as anything close to his primary damage source past level 5ish/first back. At this point I feel that either his kit should either shift to marksman or a mage without attempting to be both.
Ideally we could tone back his Q's potential power by removing most of it's interaction with numerous items and abilities. (
to name a few) But not necessarily in the way we would anticipate. I think a good portion of the community does not want marksmen to build tanky (so simply remove the interaction with the slow from
completely) so why is the mid-long range poke marksman allowed and even encouraged to do so?? Why not tone his abilities so they're used to farm, and for minor harass or an extra poke on the backend of a trade, instead of it being a constant barrage of slow fields as soon as he finishes his first (often rushed) item.
My personal solution would be to add a stronger interaction between his W and his passive. If he reaches max stacks on his passive and gets hit by his w he can get some sort of extra buff, possibly 50-75 extra auto range? I don't know if this would be super strong, but I really doubt it would be too hard to balance around. Secondly his Q in general just needs to stop interacting with various items and such. The biggest offenders are by far
and now Fervor of Battle. (for some reason) For Gauntlet, the slow field would be made Melee only. That way he has the choice between more damage and attack speed with
or more armor and mana from
but NOT a free slow. But interaction with Bork and Fervor or battle would essentially be removed, however it may still be able to stack fervor without dealing damage.
I don't really know exactly, but I would like to see Ezreal change a bit from his current state to more of an actual marksman. Alternatively we could shift him into a mage, which would just make more sense with his kit. But I'm not terribly interested into going into that. Maybe some other time. So let me know what you think about my Ideas.
(If you're going to down-vote something by all means do so. But leave your logic/reasoning would you? Blind disagreement is completely unhelpful to everyone involved. )
