Gnar and Yasuo

Hey Riot, how's it going? You feeling alright? You're sure? You don't wanna just lie down for a bit and think things through? I could get you some tea. Do you like tea Riot? Cause I like tea.

Anyway, anyone want to justify Yasuo's windwall blocking Gnar's Q especially when it's returning? Anyone at all?

There's counterplay and then there's removing mechanics from champions.

The point of Q is to catch it when I throw it. That already limits how I can use it but now Yasuo prevents me from even utilizing the point of Q.

Seriously I may as well just not bother leveling it up once against a yasuo.

Is this because of Teemo Riot? I mean Gnar is a yordle but he's not responsible for Teemo's global taunt.

Considering Yasuo ult stops a lot worse things (nami ult, for example), I think we can all live with this.

His Wind Wall isn't his ult. It's his W. They have nearly the same cooldown, though.

Abuse cooldowns, poke intelligently, call your jungler up to help, or just don't pick gnar against yasuo? Seems pretty simple to me.

Wow this was definitely one of the most ignorant comments I've ever seen. Yasuo's windwall blocks all projectiles. Gnar isn't the only character whose projectiles get blocked by yasuo's windwall. One of Ashe's main gameplay is stunning people in 1 v 1's with her ult to give her time to get off free damage. Yasuo's windwall blocks that yet u don't complain about that? Gnar's q isn't the only projectile that's blocked by Yasuo's windwall and Gnar is certainly not the only character that Yasuo's windwall "counters." iT's just part of the gameplay. Learn to work around it and stop complaining.

His wall has a 24- second cool down. Bait it out, if possible.

That's true. and even if it does block gnar's q that is only a 20 sec cooldown

Sorry dude, Gnar sucks. It's kind of a pattern I'm noticing with the new champions. I've only been playing League since Harrowing 2013, but all the champions have had a common trend: bad, good, bad, good, bad, good. Here are the champions that have been released since I've been playing.

Jinx: Out of the meta. Jinx is a really solid hypercarry, but her lack of mobility outside of her passive when she kills a champion makes her much less viable than other champions.

Yasuo Gangbusters: I think we all remember the great Yasuo QQ frenzy. He's still getting picked and banned like crazy.

Velkoz Out of the meta. A nice homage to burst AP casters, but his lack of mobility just can't make him keep up in the assassin meta.

Braum Gangbusters. the manliest support in League was hovering around a 90% ban rate because nobody had the common sense to play Morgana or Gangplank support. But their concerns about Braum being powerful are very valid, with his stuns, slows, knockups, and Yasuo esque wall.

Gnar Just awful. Not even out of the meta, he's built for top lane, but his stats are such garbage. His lack of AD is unjustifiable considering how squishy he is. Unless you build Gnar straight tank (which is how you DON'T have fun playing as Gnar) you're going to get killed with little problems on the enemy's part. Riot needs to start a new trend called "Gnaring" where you take an extremely bad champion and just buff them so much they turn into Kassadin, (like Olafing in reverse). It's the dreams of every Gangplank, Olaf, Poppy, and Urgot main everywhere.

"Braum gets banned because nobody plays gangplank support".

Just like how Urgot gets banned because nobody plays janna adc?

No Urgot is banned when your captain is trolling, because it's usually followed by Yorick and Sion. And didn't I also mention Morgana? But no, you keep making irrelevant comments for likes, cuz these boards are Facebook now.

Gnar is nothing compared to the reasons Teemo is hated for: Mushrooms EVERYWHERE!

Yasuo´s Windwall can block all kind of projectiles. Sivir´s Q will Vanish , Ahri´s Q will too Vanish... what´s the matter with Gnar´s Q Vanishing? Just Abuse his Cooldowns on Windwall and Play safe against Yasuo. Or just (when Gnar is on Rage mode) R him , shoot the Q right away with the R and auto attack (with E). Thats Easy. Until he does his Dash you will do very much Damage. When he is Build pro then you jump right away or in a better situation (you Full hp and he is 50% below) Jump on him.

You just Played Yasuo´s Posibility out against his W. When needed summoner 14 him and thats all. i didnt intended to make something like that but thats a little tipp from a Yasuo Player

I think this post is showing more of how solid a champion Yasuo is. Because of only one of his skills negating an entire subculture of champions. But like others say, wait for the windwall then blast him to pieces and make sure to ABSOLUTELY DODGE THE Steel Tempest (tornado). I have never played Yasuo, mostly against, but as long as you dodge the tornado and Wind wall thing you should be fine. link to someone else's post http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=43215962

So i'm not sure if I read your post correctly or not, but in my point of view i feel yasuo's windwall should block gnars q. However, instead of making the boomerang just turn to dust and being unable to catch it, make it return right when it hits the windwall. So for both gnar and yasuo players can be happy with blocking the boomerang and still getting the reduced cd. Currently i have no idea what happens if yasuo blocks the q.
