Why is Ezreal considered the safest ADC?

I honestly don't believe that he's the "safest adc" just because of his blink. Kalista can kite, Graves can dash through walls, Twitch and Vayne have stealth, and Jinx has 700 range. Ezreal is the last champion I would call 'safe'. He basically has a second flash with an absurdly high mana cost and cooldown. And that low HP really helps him survive ganks. But yea, I guess ezreal is the safest adc.

WAY too much of Ezreal's power budget is in this ability. In a game with Infinite mobility, Ezreal is not that hard to catch. And if you don't have free mobility (Nidalee), mobility boots aren't that expensive. His blink really doesn't do that much for him.

Because his q is a very low mana cost cs abilities. Other champions have to put themselves at more risk in order to cs than he does if he chooses to cs the safe way. Also his blink is really good. Other adc champions that try to use their gap closer and get blitz grabbed just get pulled anyways. His blink will get him away even if he gets grabbed after he started it.

Oh wow, one ability has an average mana cost (it's not even that low honestly). All his other abilities cost a f*ckton of mana and aren't even that good. Everyone knows his 'w' is useless for AD ezreal, and his ult damage has a super long charge time and is very easy to dodge (in fact, ALL Of his abilities are easy to dodge). And everyone talks about how good he is at "clearing the wave", but his ult can't even 1 shot a caster minion (assuming it's at full health).

I don't understand why you're even fighting this. The safety of a champion has way more to do with the player than the champion's abilities to be honest. You can play any champion "Safely" but their kit may not lend to their safety in an effective way. If you are playing to Ezreal's kit effectively, the mana cost of his Q is negligible. His W is useful for stacking his own passive and buffing your allies attack speed, along with providing 'safe' harassment from behind minions, with exception. His abilities may be easy to dodge, but that's why they are called skill shots. The truth of landing any skill shot effectively has more to do with WHEN to use them.

I saw a vayne get a pentakill against blue ezreal, even though his team was ahead by 17k. It's a garbage build.

What rank are you? I'm positive that Ezreal is nowhere near as skilled as the master-level players that came up with the build. Its been an amazing build on Ez for years.

He has insane sustain in lane and late game hits like a truck. Also, the kiting is real.

technically cait is the safest ez second

Dedrius1 votes

The blink is fairly long range and he can kite very effectively with abilities and his Q has a very long range with a fairly short CD. Caitlyn is probably the safest but ez has a reliable escape and long ranged poke so he is definitely up there.

Thats not why is considered the safest. Check out the link I attached to my other comment, Blue Build Ezreal is safe and beastly

Blue build takes way too long to ramp up unless fed, which is why its not usually built

This guy gets it. Blue build is something you get when you're losing (or when the enemy adc is doing more dmg than you) which is usually the case with Ezreal.

You have no brain. You didn't ask which build took the longest to maximize, you asked which ADC is the safest, and yes a Blue Build Ezreal is by far the safest. I do not like playing as Blue Ez BECAUSE it takes too long to ramp up, I agree.

This is also true, I would agree it is the safest build. Gauntlet makes it almost impossible to try to get onto Ez if he can hit skillshots.

Well, he may not be the safest, but he can also just farm with his Q if he needs to, which has a large range.

Here is a video of a pro playing Blue Build Ezreal in a Challenger ranked game. This is why Blue Build Ezreal is the safest and best Ezreal build around. Check out the Quadra at the end, he hits like a truck and he kites people so hard with Frozen Gauntlet.

Low cooldowns plus built in CDR makes stacking mana really easy with either item 3070 item, so mana isn't an issue. His passive grants built in attack speed makes for easy harassment/kiting. His Q has a fairly long range, low cooldown (including decreasing it's own cooldown and the cooldown of all the other abilities. .. I can't stress cooldown enough), the static cooldown is pretty much exactly 1 second less than the expiration for stacking his passive, it has low mana cost. His W is a pass through skill shot meaning he can harass while hiding safely behind his minions. Also grants attack speed to allies making him a great champion to lane WITH (teamwork for the win!!), and the massive AP scaling makes it a very punishing ability. As you mentioned, the most obvious "safety" is his E. He can jump to dodge skill shots, and over most walls. This is clearly a great disengaging tool, but something most people don't consider as an addition to his "safety" is how much this adds to his ability to quickly engage and deal a massive amount of burst damage. Lastly his R, ... It's global, .. it doesn't get any safer than that.

As far as survivability goes, Ezreal is in no way a Tank. The only time you should ever be closing to engage is if you are able to kite, have a support who can peel for you (even then, idk ) , or if you are going all in for the sure kill.

When they say safest, they don't mean hardest to kill in a teamfight. Tristana has a giant hop and self peel with her ultimate, so she's the hardest to get to.

The reason why ezreal is considered safe is because it's really hard to prevent an ezreal from farming in lane and there's not anyone that crushes him in lane. The only skill you really need is the ability to land his q, so if you don't main adc ezreal is a safe pick. He's not someone like draven that needs mechanical skill and positioning.

Drunk Rummate1 votes

He's considered safe because he can apply damage from way outside the range of most ADCs in addition to his fairly long blink distance.

Other than Ezreal, Corki and Tristana are fairly safe, but neither of them can apply as much damage as he can from so far away.
