Is it possible to gain an S+ on the losing team?

I wouldn't think so because Riot probably doesn't deem an S+ performance would end up in a loss.

I think it's possible, just very very very hard. I've definitely seen S and S- on losing games.

The thing is, that losing tends to be due to factors that limit your ability to do the things necessary to get an S+.

yeah I though as much. I've gotten an S losing but with the level of difficult doing that, I couldn't fathom pulling off an S+. Thanks though

Possible, yes. Practical, not really.

I have gotten 2 S on a losing game... one I was a fed Sejuani with something like 12/5/21, and a bunch of CS and turrets take down thanks to item 3512. You can't carry with a tank after mid game thou so we eventually lose since I was the only one lasting enough to do damage to the enemies. I could kill 2 or 1 but pretty much all my team was dead at the end of it. After it they will just set up a splitpush and proceed to take objectives. I could only defend 1 lane (maybe 2 if the portal was up) but since I have a low kill pressure on my own they will just send someone to distract me and the rest could push easily.

The second was on a Vi game, again I was fed and I was actually carrying that game. So they proceed to focus me down and kill me and then clean up my team for the win, my adc and mage were so behind that game that even with the 4 or 5 extra sec worry free they wouldn't do much damage to the front lines. Splitpushing was impossible since the only one that could go for the split would be me and their top was fed to the point that she coudl 1v2 or 1v3 without much issue (it was a Irelia) so 3 lanes push was impossible and 2 lanes was easily crushed by having their top lane either hold me or make her hold the 4 push with teh support while the jungler mage and adc went for me.

If you try to pad your score on a losing game go for CS (via item 3512 is by far the most feasible way) and a bunch of wards (back then I used to run item 3711 in all my junglers since it was overpowered if you had cc of your own, right now is not so good since they removed the buffs from the jungle camp). usually losing gmaes have limited amount of turrets takedown you gotta be responsible of several of them (if not all) bare in mind the recap of the turret destroyed, if you don't get accredited by it it has a lesser impact on your overall grade (always last hit the turrets yourself instead of letting a minion do it since it only register 2 types of units that did the last damage of the 5 possible ones, cannon, melee, caster, voidlings and champions, and super minion counts as different types, so while is possible to have 3 champions accredited with the takedown of a turret is impossible to have the champions and 2 type of minions. Voidlings only register as different units when the portal expires and the 3 or 4 voidlings left takedown the turret or the item is not on your inventory anymore, otherwise it counts as if you personally hit the turret)
