You don't have to screw over 75% of mid laners to make a tank meta. Adaptive Helm is just going to make a lot of champions borderline unplayable because there are mages that are designed to hit the front-line first but can't kill the front-line. RIP Taliyah. The classes which tend to lack any form of serious counterplay is generally the two that fall between assassins and fighters. They have the mobility and burst to not be kited, but the durability to not be worn down.

but you can already counterbuild those champions, most of them are burst oriented and the DPS ones are rightclickers who, besides Jax and Warwick, can be counterbuilt with frozen heart or randuin's while also building against their main damage source

and counterplay is on an individual basis

FIrst, i'm speaking generally. There are some items which do have an affect on them, but they tended to just be bleed overs from other items designed to counter other classes.

Second, technically both divers and skirmishers fall into this category (just thought i'd clarify with riot's classifications).

Third, that's my point. The counterplay to their designs isn't some kind of general over arching class counter which exists, or is going to exist, for most other classes. Which in itself is unfair for the people having to play against those champions, who can utilize the general class item counters. Which is why the biggest counter picks to many of these champions tends to be other skirmishers/divers

corki, have at least been SEEN in mid lane when he was broken... but that donest make hi a "mid laner". i mean nidalee has been a top and mid and a flex support for the first 5 4 seasons and the first quarter of the 5th season

but you dont see me listing Nidalee as a support. even if i am probably one of the few people STILL playing league who has over 100 games PLAYING nidalee support when it was a thing.

you are supposed to be a tank and just resist damage, not go all-in to all the back lane, also kill their carry cuz it seems you are tanky and got lots of damage and then get out with it and go lock cc another carry. I hate this tanks user mains that they think they should be able to kill everyone and resist everyones damage. stupid if you ask me.

That's a weird way to spell Lee Sin, a champion who literally gets to define which other champions get to be viable junglers or not based on whether they can handle his invades.

And "handle" refers to just surviving them, not fighting back.

They will be fine. They will still destroy squishies. The rest of teamcomps will adapt to continue being able to kill them, or CC them while their backline gets focused.

Malzahar is already a rotting corpse, after all those Nerfs from Riot and item 3140

But more to your point: **Throw in Adaptive Helm... ** will make it worse for Midlaners, but I don't expect to see people use it that much because it will reduce their power.

It will be great for Top Lane tanks whose kit does not rely on AP.

But, the reality will be that they won't go for Adaptive first, they will go for the new Banshee Veil. Because it includes AP now.

BTW,. Any ADC can go 1 v 1 in midlane vs Malzahar.

All it takes is 1 simple purchase: item 3140

I played a Cait midlane just yesterday. Was doing ok until she bought the QSS. Activated EVERY TIME I ULTED. It negates the suppress AND the Damage of the ult... basically cutting Malzahar's balls clean off.

If she had Adaptive helm it may have helped her but not much since QSS does everything she wants.

Okay let me explain something that you and others on my posts seem to be missing. This isn't about mid laners purchasing the item. Assassins dive backline, but mages hit the frontline. That's how it works. When you add in an item like this, all of those mages become borderline obsolete, because they can't kill the frontline anymore.
