Is it possible to get to high elo without playing several hours a day?

been playing this game for almost 7 years. never really played ranked all that much

3 seasons in a row i would climb from mid bronze to silver 1 but quit every time for reasons i cant figure out.

anyways i always had the impression that to get to diamond+ you had to play for like 5 hours a day. which i just don't want to do

is this true? trying to decide if i really want to climb this season

It does take a lot of practice, but it varies from person to person. Some people are just naturally better at the game. For example, some people spend thousands of hours practicing, but they'll never reach masters or challengers.

yeah i guess id just have to play to figure out which type i am. got from bronze V to silver I in like 80 games in season 6 so i feel like i could get pretty high especially if i try to improve a lot

I've been playing five to ten games a week (if that) for months now and I managed to reach Platinum rather easily.

I would recommend focusing on reaching Gold at the moment and working your way up from there.

Not wana be negetive here, but climbing crom bronze 5 in 80 games sounds like quite a lot to me.. IF you were realy much stronger than your opponents, you would skip divisions(I mean like from bronze 5 to bronze 3 etc.. dont know if its called division :D) during your climb.

yeah it sounds like a lot but i was surprised how little 80 games felt. i couldnt even imagine what it would be like being those guys with 400+ games played and still in silver 3

I never did ranked that much, mostly played aram if I ever played between when I was silver Seasons 1/2/3/4 and seasons 5 and 6.

Season 6 I found I could easily climb to plat (reached P5 before reset). And now I know my MMR is at a place where I can skip tiers all the way up to high plat, and maybe even diamond.

So no, you don't have to waste your life playing LoL to reach a decent MMR.

It's possible, but honestly not realistic.
