"Nerfs" riot isn't hitting the right things. They lowered his base and increased his scaling once before and yet tank Ekko is a thing again, why tho? Because he has too much utility for an "assassin" he has 3 massive slows 2 are AOE and he has an enormous stun, it's too much for an assassin. And on top of that, he's impossible to catch, even champs like Fiora and Yi or even Leblanc with great chase and lots of gap closers can't get to him, he has too much safety as well.

Still, even so Ekko needs to make a trade off, being an assassin or a utility Mage, he doesn't get both, that is not right.

There can be a fair trade-off as a utility assassin, like forcing commitment in exchange for strong initiation.

It's a shame that Ekko never has to commit to a fight due to his ult.

Indeed, perhaps his ult can be reworked, or his utility can be toned down to fit an "in and out" assassin style. Or his damage could be toned down so he could be a team fight-capable assassin, although that would make him more of a bruiser or fighter than assassin.

Frankly, I'd prefer him to be tuned into being a bruiser or fighter rather than an assassin. I think it fits his theme better and would probably be healthier.

I can agree, even his trailer showed him in an extended fight, rather than a quick and painless kill. Plus, tanky assassins aren't a good design, as the boards frequently point out.

yeah well guess what, he doesn't need to commit and he can engage, but why the fuck is an assassin a team fight initiator? Oh right, because he has an incredibly fucking broken design. An AP assassin who does absurd damage, has ridiculous surviavability, sustain, dps and burst, no need to commit to a fight and an absurd amount of cc. But then he goes tank and does all of that except the burst(which is just a little bit slower).

            So tell me, what trade offs does this he make? Sacrifice poke? Nope hes got that. Trade cc/utility for burst? Nope he has that. Trade burst for tankiness and survavbility? Nope hes also got that. What about his ability to make easy pics for his ability to initiate team fights? Oh no he has that too. Tell which other "assassin" can do all that, which other "assassin" can engage an entire team fight? None, not one other champion can do what this broken abomination does. Which other "assassin" can go full tank and do still be usefull? Oh none that right. You know why? Because his utility is too much. He has as much utility as supports but has an absurd amount of everything. He has everything.

Has to commit,has 1/4 the cc of Ekko, now at to run away from a fight, easily focused. Diana makes trade offs, Ekko doesn't.

AP Ekko is still unbalanced because he's an assassin with more than enough utility and safety. Being forced to basically kill him twice is ridiculous regardless of if he's full Tank or full AP. His kit is so overloaded that he can basically make any build work. It's why we've seen AP, AD, Tank, Bruiser, and even a few On-Hit Ekkos.

Okay, another circlejerker with no arguments saying that nerfs won't be enough. Tank Ekko is strong right now thanks to Gauntlet and Sunfire + Grasp Synergy, Grasp and Gauntlet are getting nerfed, Ekko's overall damage is nerfed, nobody is picking him for his stun tbh, people pick him for his safety, stickiness and damage. His E will get a base damage nerf and his W will get a base damage nerf like wtf do you want dude stop circlejerking.

I thought it was pretty clear, I want his utility reduced. He has too much to be an assassin, far far too much utility as an assassin. If Fiora's slow got gutted by 50% because it was too much utility on a high damage character then surely, surely Ekko's ludicrous amount of slows/stun is too much. He has 3 slows for fucks sake, all at high amounts, on low cd and easily applied to multiple enemies, its insane, its just too much.

Or people are building him tank, because AP Ekko has mana problems, gets denied farm from the ranged midlaners, has unreliable, delayed and telegraphed abilities, lategame can't go in and assasinate anyone without getting instabursted - you can 3shot squishies, but the enemy can 2 shot you unless you have snowballed out of control and they are 2-3 items behind you.

Never had mana problems on ekko or ever had problems with getting denied farm

most mages get outtraded and q is super good at farming minions so if i am against a mage thats strong early once i get a morellos and 2 dorans i can afk farm ez pz.

you must be doing something wrong

Ekko isn't like talone or rengay

you can't just run in faceroll your keyboard and kill the enemy adc

you actually need to use strategy

Ekko had no issues even for newbs XD. You have to bide your time, then all in when right, ult out. Now you do tgat, except the "time it right part".

An assassin with overloaded kit and excessive utility that makes Utility Supps go "that's a lot of utility" on top of great bases and ratios and ability to build tank and pretty much still one shot.

Who thought it was balanced enough to bring it back?

Yes, he was able to this, always and can always build Tank, but having great, great tank potential plus assassination is more a thing about Rito not balancing properly and mpst recent patch made it a "must" build tank instead of "tank can be viable, but at what cost?".

As it is now, you dont trade much for Tank Ekko.
