Next PBE patch:

[New] "Unique Passive: Gain 6(+0.5 per champion level)% Armor Penetration and Magic Penetration."

Tell me Riot: Why do we need more Armor Penetration? WHY?

AND what AP's other than ...... will ever use it. Adding more Mag Pen is one thing..... Adding it to the one item NO MAGE WILL EVERY USE...... is another.....

Also....... How much does need to be buffed by Guinsoo's? Or ? Yi's going to be doing like 80% effective True damage.

Kai Sa is going to pop people in .5 seconds.

HOW IS THIS A GOOD CHANGE?

Yeah, this is actually a really stupid buff imo. They nerfed Kai just to give her an indirect buff 3 patches later.

~~Where are you getting this info? I'm not seeing it on S@20 for the current PBE cycle.~~ Nevermind, this is on today's update.

So we are talking about 15% armor and magic pen at 18. I'm actually going to say this is okay. I don't remember guinsoo users investing a lot into penetration and the numbers are pretty low. For instance kai'sa only rarely builds pen. Kayle gets a void staff in 2% of games and I don't see her getting armor pen. She does have the passive for now, but she's getting reworked so who knows if she's staying an auto-attacker. Similarly Yi gets black cleaver only about 2% of the time.

Yeah, this is probably not a problem. If anything it helps hybrid champs in general and at worst it encourages riot to nerf problematic champs instead.

mages don't need more pen to begin with?

Volibear Shyvana Warwick and maybe phoenix Udyr will use this version much better. the item has easily just doubled its potential demographic

Except..... they DO? Void staff doesn't really work with half the Mage roster. DoT mages don't really scale with Void staff, and are forced to buy item 3151 item 3116 , which limits their access to other items.

There's a reason Morgana, Malhazar, etc are not Meta. Second Wind, Steraks, and persistent Mag Resist in specifically Juggernaut builds make their kits completely worthless.

The Only reason Zyra isn't completely shut out too, is because her base damage of skill burst is high, and on low cooldowns. If her entire viability relied on her plants' damage, she'd be in the gutter too.
