Why do pet units grant gold on death at all?

Sometimes I wonder just how much gold I've been giving to my opponents.

I main Yorick and each ghoul is worth 5g and the Maiden is worth 50g.

Simply clearing my 4 ghouls grants 20g, and I can't exactly tell them to stop inting.

Plus many ult pets have long CDs and don't even start until the pet is killed. You literally have to pay the enemy 50g to start the cooldown of your ult again.

They grant 5g. Update yourself as "main".

That's what I thought but the wiki says otherwise.

I faced a Yorick recently and swore they were worth 5g. I trust the wiki too much.

Tibbers, Daisy, and Maiden are worth 50g because they're powerful units that allow the player to be effective with low risk to their champion. There should be some risk that you can give the enemy some gold if you just send your summon on a suicide mission to harass an enemy champion.

If it didn't AoE nuke + stun it would not need to have such a long CD but either way the gold makes the gameplay around the summon itself healthier

such a long CD

You're not serious right?

And doesn't even start the CD until Tibbers dies.

Uh, unless something changed recently he does actually continue to go off of cooldown while he's active. Lategame you can cast him, have him die a natural death, and then recast him within seconds.

Oh I guess i was thinking of URF where you literally can't use it again til he dies.

A better example is Yorick's Maiden. Doesn't start CD til death and that thing has a looooong cd.

If it started cooling down on cast rather than at death, Yorick would be gamebreakingly ridiculous. He's already extremely good at splitpushing and turning 1v2s. He definitely doesn't need more maiden access.

Are you kidding, im pretty sure it does. And even if it doesn't, with 45% cdr it's 39 seconds. That's a really short ultimate cooldown

Pet units are skills as well, they have cooldowns or requirements to summon them.

If I don't get gold for dodging all of Xerath's ult, why do I get it for killing Annie's?

Quite honestly it feels harder to dodge Xerath than kill Tibbers. Maybe you should :P

Because he has to root himself. The summoner champs can move and use their other skills while their summon beats you up.

Rip my analogy. *Insert literally any other ultimate here*

Viktor has a similar ult except it is heavily restricted on its movement so instead of trying to kill it you just have an easier time disengaging.

I think maybe because you literally stand still while other things attack for you?

I mean I don't mind it it's the champion's kit after all. But you really don't do anything other than tell them to attack/summon them.

Buddy that's not what Yorick does, he puts in more work than his ghouls.

Lightning I2 votes

I said maybe.

And ofc he does, that's kind of the point, ghouls don't need that much work

Don't play Dota 2 and use Necronomicon if you think the gold on pets in league is bad.
