Support is fun and impactful "NERF!!!"

So as soon as supporting feels interesting and has a real impact on the game, the nerf mob comes out in full force.

"How dare you deny the kills that I deserve!!!"

Both teams have a support, and both of them buy the items. In fact, anyone can buy the items if they so choose. So stop complaining.

Dude - no one has a problem with supports. Support ITEMS sure, but supports no. And the issue with support items isn't what they do for supports - it's the fact that it makes you basically need 3 bruisers/fighters/divers/assassins/burst mages all focusing the adc to OPEN the teamfight if they are going to remove them right away. And if you don't do that, the better adc on the one time out-carries the other team despite them having a better mid and top or jg and top or mid and jg and everyone else being on par. If one position can have more impact than 2 other positions on the map combined when those 2 are equally skilled or better and doing TRYING to do their job correctly, then there is an issue in balance. mid-late and late game teamfights, you legit need something like Renekton Gangplank Fiora or Camille toplane (damage plus cc or just insane damage), Vi Warwick MonkeyKing or some other jungler with cc and follow-up lockdown and Annie Cassiopeia Fizz Ekko Orianna Syndra or Zed with huge burst or burst and cc to delete the adc. If you don't delete them, you bursting out an enemy carry other than the adc doesn't matter because you then have no burst to kill the adc - you just get kited and killed or chased down and killed - depending on who is doing the chasing. Meanwhile, you can't kill them with your adc because the enemy adc is better and wins any adc duel in like 2-3 aa's even if you get their adc to lower hp before being killed to try to help your adc. Issues people have with adc's and support items are due to how they protect adc's too well - not due to how good they are for the support themselves. And this is largely because designers/developers/balance teams or whoever else didn't listen to the tons of players like ME who said way back during mage rework that making different classes items cheaper but scale less well and have less base stats is a BAD IDEA. Well the did it to mages and assassins, every ad user wrecked lethality, so it happened to ad assassins~~~~, and then tank update made it happen to tanks and bruisers. You know the two classes that haven't been screwed over by "less effective but cheaper" items? Supports and adc's. And those 2 classes are the ones people have the most problems with right now. Coincidence? I think not. Now, half a year or so after I and a few others cry out against "less effective but cheaper" items, people are seeing what I predicted would happen to such roles way back then. And we aren't happy about it. As far as any of us are concerned, I'm pretty sure support items can keep full stats and passives as far as they help the support. But all the buffs that specifically cater to adc's and aa champs in general (like the yi + kayle strat everyone complains about these days) need to die. They need to go bye bye so the other champs and roles can do their damn job and be PROPERLY rewarded for doing it correctly instead of being told nice try - adc lives and you get a grey screen and a loss; but you came 200hp closer to killing them than the average player because you did everything right. No, you don't keep your lp or rank for that - you still drop lower or get demoted. Drop the catering of support items specific to adc/aa champs so that they can be equally effective on protecting midlaners, carry junglers or toplaners. Make adc's properly punishable when caught by 1-2 enemies (who in all other patches not disgustingly favoring adc's)... the adc dies and they live. We don't ask that supports or support items get nerfed into the ground. We simply ask that they don't be structured to prevent other roles from having their proper 1/5 the team contribution to winning the game or losing it. Because right now, about 50% or more of the teamfight power lies in the hands of the adc - in large part because of support items buffing adc's and aa users more than they buff any other class of champ.
