also, you get a skin shard which you'd probably be better off participating to get a good skin for like 1k orange essence (which isn't alot with my luck trust me) which is better than 750 RP or above IMO

1k orange essence is around 3 skin shards which is already almost 750 RP from either hextech chests or the lunar revel envelopes, plus the RP spent on the chest/envelope with the actual shard. Buying any hextech chests past the free ones you get is extraordinarily bad value.

a guarantee skin shard from 3 chests is 375 Rp, you literally have to do 125 x 3

no idiot would get orange essence farm from the events, because its expensive

not only that but you get some blue essence on the side, and you might even get a skin shard you'd want to KEEP.

barely any downsides, so just add 250 which is actually 625 (mind your lies) without considering how much the skin shard you get may be worth, regardless of it being wanted. there are skins that are worth 500 at the least, so you aint got a point in trying to argue with me if you decide to LIE

Bought 11 red envelopes for $25, got at least $40 worth of skins that I wanted, and that's skins that I upgraded to permanent, I used all the other skins for orange essence to upgrade them. Its not a bad deal, just because you don't like it doesn't make it shit, or others foolish for using it.

If you bought snowdown chests, you could potentially save a lot of money actually. I bought 11 boxes total and got 6 epic shards, 2 legendaries, and 3 other skin shards that I rerolled into fnatic janna. I pulled SG jinx from my first chest. Just because you don't like an event, doesn't mean no one else does. I personally don't think this was much of a success, but that's not to say other people aren't enjoying it.

But none of you have answered why you'd participate in paying for random stuff when you can buy specific items for a set price.

I can get regular chests by just getting S rank on a champion in a game once per season to give me random things. I don't have to pay for those. Why would I want to pay for these when I can buy a specific item instead of gambling on something I want.
