Why Can You Flash Out of Garen's Ult?

Yet not far more than half of the other targeted ultimates in the game? If you Flash right when Garen gets in range to ult, it won't go off. This is a consistency issue that should probably be addressed since Darius and many other similar ultimates still go through after Flash.

Garen's ultimate still has a cast time. But if it's finished, the enemy is dead. I've seen people flash into the fog of war, only to be executed by an invisible giant sword. Many targeted spells can actually be avoided if you flash out of range while it's casting. But there's only a fraction of a second that you can pull this off.

it has a cast animation but its not a channeled ability.

the only way to break garens ult should be to kill garen during the animation. once it started it should hit, no matter what youre doing.

the fact that it sometimes doesnt even when it should seems to be a bug.

Every ability with a cast time in the game works exactly like Garen's ult - it will be cancelled if enemy leaves your vision, or range during the cast time, but it won't if they do so during spell animation. That's definitely not a bug.

Now, one might argue that Garen's ult should just be instant cast, but if there is a champion that shouldn't have mechanics removed from the kit it's Garen [slayer-jinx-wink]

Avid Garen player here. If the cast time is finished, then it will follow you. You will have to do much better to escape Demacian justice!

true. if timed right, nobody can flash away from justice.

garen main here been playing him since i first started the game and still play him.

its a bug that hasnt been fixed for ages.

once the animation starts, people shouldnt be able to break it by moving out of range or out of vision (like into a bush or the fog of war). my guess is that it has something to do with the latter.

maybe they should just make his ult grant true sight on the target for the duration of the animation as a bandaid.

or they need to get around to fixing that bug.

Speaking of bugs, the other day on ARAM, a Garen was able to pass through my wall as Anivia

Anivia is just a buggy champion in general

Garen's ult cannot be canceled by flash unless he loses sight of his target or if his target.

except its been happening for a while that enemies flashing out of the animation cancels it, even when theyre still in vision range afterwards.

its not supposed to happen, but it keeps happening on occation.

It's been done already in a game I was in. Multiple times the enemy was able to escape justice by using Flash.

Because your targets got out of sight

I agree, it should be impossible to flash out of Garen's ult.

it is the same with a lot of targeted ability, like for example with shaco E : it is cancelled if shaco loose the vision of the ennemy or if he get out of range, but once it is cast it is gonna follow the guy anywhere
