It's quite simple. When a champion gets a rework that makes mechanical changes to the champion, then it should be listed as a different mastery rank.
Especially when some of the "reworks" are so massive, that they're functionally new champions replacing the old champions.

I would agree 100 % if they A refund be spend for 6 and or 7th rank Or B gave mastery shards for those ranks. Not the tokens you get for the s rating but the shard you could use in place of be
Have the mastery go to m5 until you win 10 games with the champ, then it goes back to m7
Apparently I'm a master 5 GP even though I can't chain 3 barrels reliably.
Oh well I guess my days of Shiv rush Q spam are roughly comparable to the new Barrels.
