Because honestly support is the most underrated, underplayed, underloved, underappreciated role in the game and support mains are scarce.
Every other role gets kd/a, cs counters ,shutdowns and they get all the glory. You wouldn't even notice a good support.
Most people i see who get autofilled support say something like:
"Fk this game autofill again i don't support give me mid or i run it down"

I don't know how many times I've been something like 2/5 on a tank with 20+ assist, and the reply to me is "is this 2/5 player talking?"
Vision score exist, but again not many people appreciate it. You know who does though? Stats, if you look at op.gg after the game you can see an op.gg score, it's ranked 1-10.
I judge my games on a slew of factors, and while sometimes the website may get it wrong who's the best or MVP, it's more correct than wrong. A system like this in league would certainly help with what your saying more so than another stat line.

You see that Twitch? When I left lane to roam around and smash Jax's face into his own turret, I was 1/0/7, which means Twitch was 7/0/1. I did that shit as a melee support to a Lux Ashe lane.
