Kassadin rework idea

Passive: Voidheart: Through kassadin flows the power of the void, enabling him to pass through units. When kassadin damages an enemy, they are afflicted with 'conduit'

Q: Void bolt: Kassadin lobs a powerful voidbolt, dealing 80/120/160/200/240+0.4total AD+0.6AP as magic damage. 50/60/70/80/90% of the damage will be spread to nearby enemies afflicted with conduit, with the first target taking damage again. Range: 1200 Cost: 80 mana Cooldown: 10 seconds

W: Unchanged

E: Violet light Kassadin bathes a target in void energies, dealing 5/7/9/12/14% of their max health. If this ability kills its target, it leaves behind a cloud that deals 1% max HP damage per half second, afflicts enemies with conduit and lasts 15 seconds. If this ability kills an enemy champion, tendrils will attempt to attach to enemies within 600 range and root for 3 seconds after two seconds of being attached. Cost: 100 mana Cooldown: 12 seconds Range: 500

R: Riftwalk: Toggle: Kassadin ignores terrain and gains 10/20/30% movement speed. Cost: 50% of current mana, 10/8/6% of maximum mana per second. Cooldown: 0

e seems overloaded for a basic ability and that ults mana cost is quite high besides that good concept

The ult is expensive because of what it does - ignoring terrain is just as powerful as the old riftwalk but with more counterplay. as for the E, its not... really overloaded, its meant to be an execute as well as help his laning since assassins have to have incredible laning and harass in addition to great mobility. Youl notice theres not really much 'burst' per se; a lot of the damage comes from using your Q on an enemy effected by conduit. Most of your other damage will come from basic attacks and W procs. Not to mention the Q has to travel to another target if you want that double damage.

Kassadin right now is a solid champion, and I highly doubt he would get reworked, but I love the idea and think it would make another great void champion if the abilities were tweaked. <3

He might be solid but hes no assassin ^^' If kassadin gets behind, hes boned. If he gets ahead, hes just average because of low base damage. A lot of his damage will come from sheen W procs. In that respect kassadin would really benefit from being re-tuned to be a mage rather than an assassin. By changing kassadin into something thats more in line with modern assassins, you give him a new lease on life... and re-imagining of what a man who controls the void to fight it can be.

After re-reading and looking at it i see your right about the E, it just has a lot of parts to it but they all do interact well together.

I still think the ult should be looked into, this ult would making building mana on Kass counter intuitive, as a max mana cost per sec would simply mean you build mana regen, this would change his build entirely, however if that is your goal then well done ;)

Overall i think its a great idea and i like seeing people thinking up new ways to balance and make things fun.

Should be different champion. Really cool, but Kassadin is all about flashing around.

Also that ult you made is utter garbage.

Considering it lets you ignore terrain and gives a melee champion increased movement speed, AND youl be buying item 3027 item 3040, its mana costs arent actually very high. I mean the 50% current is, but when your mana pool is so high AND 25% of it is getting refunded, its negligable for small engagements. you dont want the ult to be on all the time, you want to use it to set up cut offs in the jungle.

In other words you're trying to remove Kassadin's mobility, make him use all of his mana on his ult (while building two major mana items).

Are you trying to make him a jungler or something? His identity is defined by his ult being a blink that deals damage scaling with mana.

... If you dont think the ability to ignore terrain is mobility, i dont really have anything to say to you. Its not a flash or dash, but its potentially just as good. especially with W and phage procs.

The idea i was working with is making his ult more powerful as a chase tool while making its use more tactical and actually feel good to use. I understand kassadins ult is iconic - but it takes up litterally all of his power budget.

You do realize you suggested change wouldn't actually make him as strong as he is now, right? That new ult won't give him nearly as mucc mobility as he has now. 30% movement speed is pretty weak, given diminished returns to movement speed.

The ability would be more reasonable if it was like 70/100/130% movement speed. But even then, that's nothing cool or flashy.

Plus 50% of current mana. Mother of god.

Kassadin is finally in a balanced state, so yeah sure lets just throw it back into the blender and see what happens.

Inb4 98% kass ban rate again.
