If You Really Learn How to Counter Yasuo

I'll help..., but you actually have to take this seriously instead of just saying, "Omg, I need to do this shit... unhealthy champion!!!"

How to Beat Yasuo In this scenario, I'll show you how to beat Yasuo as an Orianna just by using autoattacks and those occasional abilities. Passive- Treat his passive like an Illaoi. He wants you to engage on him because if you do, he has room to go in. So just see if you can find an opportunity to get an auto attack off like when he's trying to go for one of the back wave cs.

The way to deal with the crit part of the passive is to try and contest every cs he goes for so he doesn't hit that pd and pd + ie powerspike too quickly.

Q- Just don't stay in range of his basic Q and try to predict where he will e. Usually, most Yasuos will e towards a minion where they can e + q you. If you use a shield like Orianna e or a way to control the area like Orianna q onto that area where you are standing around a minion, it limits his mobility or sets you up for a counterplay since he can either eat your e + q + w combo or have to use 1-4 minions instead.

W- He will most likely Windwall to counterplay to your actions. For example, if I trade against Yasuo with a certain combo with autoattacks and q, he will most likely see that as my pattern, and try to windwall that. Yet again, you must treat this ability like an Illaoi. You engage, then disengage. You can't just expect to throw your whole q + r combo, and not expect him to retaliate. He will expect that. Be Faker, and fake him out.

E- At level 1, Yasuo will usually hold onto an ability to see which one they will get first. They usually start in like 15 seconds at most. They start q if you are passive, and e if you step forward too much. So start out passive, and he will start his q to get the back wave, and that's when you start contesting with autoattacks.

Later on, he will try to e through a minion + e through another one + and use his maxed out e + his q + his autoattacks + fervor. If you let this happen, he will win the trade since he will just e out and windwall.

However, you have to know that he is vulnerable while e'ing. It may be .2 seconds, but it's still something. You have range, and use it. If he's e'ing through the minions, use some of that damage like Orianna q and hurt him. If he e's again, e him. Then just autoattack him, and kite. If you can kill him, however, use ur q + r as he e's out, and finish him off.

R- At level 6, it's very strong, so try and avoid it as much as possible. If he lands it on you, then he deserves to kill you.

Later on in the game, it does very little damage, and the armor penetration is the only thing that doesn't make it complete trash.

I hope it helps you, and I use Orianna since her autoattacks hurt. :D

Yasuo is actually REALLY strong vs Orianna.. lol

That isn't the point. The point is you can still beat him with any champion if you just learn how to play against him. I just use Orianna because she was the perfect example. I could have used Brand, or Syndra, but my point still stands.

I'd be willing to test that theory with u :)

Well orianna is good vs melee champions because her ball. And last time I checked she can place it on anyone and ult. Yasuo can't do anything about that. But at the same time I feel as though he beats orianna. All comes down to the team comp and decisions made within the game itself. But the author does have an idea to generally beating a yasuo. But stomping or outplaying an enemy laning phase also doesn't ensure a won game. As many other factors decide the match.

This isn't supposed to help you win the game. This is here to help you lane against Yasuo and help you shut him down primarily in the laning phase.

The only reason why people feel about that is because Yasuo can sometimes pull off that clutch play.

Yeah I don't get why people complain about yasuo. Fighting a really skilled yasuo player is insane, challenging and fun. People complain he's antifun or has little counterplay. He's just one of those high skill cap champions that not everyone can pick up and excel at while requiring a player to take a deep breathe and respect the champion when facing him. He has his weaknesses, a player has to get past his passive and his Q and his W. So the community hates yasuo because he pulls off a clutch play. So many other champions do the same thing, pulling off game changing or game ending plays. You would think people would complain less about high skill cap champions. As they are quite rewarding when mastered. And if you(as the player facing him aren't good) he will be a pain. I do get mad when he windwalls an enemy or himself from a potential burst combo. But that just goes to show how focused on the game the yasuo player us and has legit reaction speed. Usually win or lose give a good yasuo a +1 on honerable opponent. Because usually they are just that. I don't see why he should be punished for making people wake up & think outside the box when facing him.

Actually the worst part about Orianna vs Yasuo is the fact if she puts the ball on someone who goes into windwall it knocks the ball off. So he can stop Orianna/Malphite wombo for example if Malphite ults through windwall the ball gets left outside.

lmao that's like so rare.

There are a lot of shitty interactions with the ball, if he windwalls on top of it for example you can't move it until windwall is done. It also blocks your q,e, and as mentioned will knock it off people carrying the ball.

I learned something new. Damn... So yasuo just counters orianna. This player just has an idea on how to possibly shut down some random yasuo laning phase.

Thing is, you can still apply some stuff from here to other champions. For example, using Orianna q while he's windwalling can also be Syndra q or Brand w. I'm just trying to help people apply their champion to beat Yasuo since Yasuo is apparently too op for them.

I hope you didn't spend too much time on this.

Spent about 10 minutes. Is that enough?

This guide is like a brainstem trying to reason, it has good ideas and base function. But it would fail to stand up to the cerebrum due to the higher base level of reasoning ability.

Basically this might work in low elo sometimes, but it lacks accounting for higher skill level and strategy present at higher elos where yasuo will win vs Orianna 10/10 times with no jungle interference.

I'm not at "high elo" yet so I can't really imagine how it is like, but I would imagine it would just require more thought into beating him. You can still apply these thoughts to stop a Yasuo into getting ahead if not to win a lane. It might just require more prediction.

Exactly, you have good base ideas but it definitely needs refinement to work higher up. Props to you for understanding that, take an upvote and have a nice day.

Again, sorry if I sound like Rackier but you will NEVER understand what Yasuo is truly like if you are a low elo player because he is exponentially more overpowered in higher elos. When I was hovering around mid gold elo, I thought he was borderline underpowered because I would always beat him in lane and keep him shut down until the game ended. It is way different once you start reaching high plat/diamond elo yasuo mains.

I watched Pants Are Dragon play in Diamond. By the 7 minute mark, the Poppy, and the Hecarim just dove him, even though Yasuo had one kill, and Yasuo was dead. Even if there was a counter gank, it wouldn't have done anything, because they were both 75% health anyway.

meh just remove that piece of garbage

Calabok1 votes

only way is to ban him.

Incarceration1 votes

Keep doing that when there are much more important bans.
