This season, I finally understand ELO hell

I finally understand..... that 'ELO hell' is completely made up.

Some things you should know about me. Been playing since the end of season 3. Been a Silver trash can for years. Pretty much just been playing the same game over and over expecting something to magically change. I was the stereotypical "ELO HELL IS IMPOSSIBLE" shitter. Took a long break from LoL at the end of season 5. Came back halfway through this season.

This time, however, I made some changes. Starting watching pro streams and taking mental notes of what they did differently than me. Watched youtube videos of high ELO players giving advice. I became super critical of myself. After every mistake I would make sure to try to evaluate what went wrong and what I could have done differently. I took my finger off the trigger and started evaluating situations instead of just reacting.

Started playing ranked after working on my skill in norms. Went 7W-3L in my placements and got S4. S4 is where I finished last year. S4 is also the highest rank I had ever achieved. Flash forward to now. Just made it to S1 and I'm rapidly climbing my way to Gold. I have a 70% overall win rate and a MMR in high Gold.

And its all thanks to me finally admitting I was playing like shit then actively trying to improve myself.

Definitely proud I didn't have to DQ boost to do it either. I have a 70% win rate as a SoloQ only player. I've played with toxic premades. I've played against premades as well. Tbh there really isn't much of a difference. Not at this ELO. You're just using it as yet another excuse for your performance.

Big shout out to all the higher ELO players who have endured wave after wave of shitters like me bombarding them whenever they say ELO hell does not exist. In the end, turns out you were right the whole time.

So don't be another ELO hell shitter. Admit your mistakes and try to get better at the game. Playing game after game the exact same way is going to get you nowhere. Everyone gets afks on their team. Everyone gets a 0/10 bot lane. Move on. Stop letting one game get to you so much.

Yeah its always great when one person actually figures it out. Too bad the other 1k+ games played players still blame their teams all day.

Silver 1 0LP because I just won my promos lol.

And guess what? In my Silver 1 promo games I got matched against two platinum players on the enemy team in one game. And crushed them lol

Will do this, Ive been blaming that its the noob champs beating me. Instead I will do this and be critical of what I can do to stop the no skill champs from killing me, builds and such. Thank you for this.

In my experience, the term Elo Hell is more used by High Elo players. Especially smurfs playing in bronze/silver calling everyone out that they suck and they deserve to be in Elo Hell. Somone that considers themselves better than everyone else claims they are in Elo Hell, and I've seen smurfs use that term more often than others.

Elo hell still exists to an extent. There are divisions that are much harder to climb out of than others. You skipped Silver V, which for me was much harder to win games in than Silver IV. I mean yeah you can always improve and that's what you should focus on but you can get streaks of games with really awful winning conditions. In the end, you gotta remember that bad luck will end though and if you don't go on tilt you can climb your way out of the pit.

I remember your QQ threads. Happy you decided to take it into your own hands and improve!

Just don't forget everything you're saying now next time you hit a wall at another elo xD

What pissed me off this season was I had to play against Plat players to get into Gold. Funny thing is that after I lost my promos twice, I only had to win 1 game to make it into Gold 5.
