Not a QQ thread. Twitch and Kalista.

I'm just curious as to why Twitch got utterly destroyed in 3.1 because Expunge was doing too much damage, yet Kalista has the same mechanic doing more damage, but has other damaging spells as well AND more mobility.

I think the change to this situation is due to their kits. The difference between Kalista and Twitch is the way they're able to apply those stacks onto people. For Twitch, his ultimate essentially gives him a free Runaan's that pierces people and can hit targets from two times the distance than Kalista can. This, combined with the other steroids in his kit, make his E a powerful ability in itself when you're able to quite rapidly get all those stacks on a group of targets. Kalista has no real steroids in her kit like Twitch does, and she requires a Runaan's Hurricane in order to apply that same level of power.

Also, a few Rioters have actually labeled Kalista's release as one of the worst they've ever done since Vladimir. So I think some have recognized the mistake of giving her so much innate power in terms of mobility, utility, and damage.

As willing as I am to take your word for that last part, would you mind linking to the Rioters/quotes in question who mentioned that? I hate Kalista with a fiery passion and also think it was a mistake to release her in the state she is/was in, and it would somewhat reassuring to see Riot acknowledging her issues that frankly as well.

I'm afraid I no longer have the link in question. :( It was a Rioter response on Reddit shortly a month or two after her release. You might be able to find it if you search, though.

He didn't get a nerf to his team fight though, they specifically said his lane trades were too strong because of his single damage ability.

Because you have to count for the DoT too I guess, whch is pretty strong by itself, also back then mobility wasn't out of control like it is right now... Still that's just my opinion.

on top of the DoT, its also True damage instead of Physical. But Twitch does need some love

Like I already said elsewhere: I don't think twitch needs love. Why is that?

1 - he has a pretty good early game despi beying an hypercarry since, thanks to his assassination patterns and his DoT passive, he can easily trade some damage with the enemy then sustain back the damage he received while the enemy can't sustain because of the DoT; 2 - he has an incredibly strong late game (since he's an hypercarry); 3 - he has a strong assassination tool (his q) and two strong steroids for fighting enemyes (q and r); 4 - his DoT easily goes unnoticed untill it's already too late because it's a bit overshadowed by his raw damage most of the game.

Twitch is incredibly strong imo and with the lack of vision he's even better this season. Obviously I might be wrong, but that's my opinion on him.

You aren't wrong, my friend. Twitch has been a monster in high-elos across the world, but has gotten little notice outside of Youtubers making videos about it. Twitch would be much more popular if people weren't deterred by his laning phase. I have a friend who is a Twitch main, and has a 73% win rate with him over 200+ games.

Yeah, his laning phase is not really weak, but it's strange since you have to play around his DoT a lot and can't really fight it out most of the times.

That's true; it relies on whether you and your support can get a pick or surprise your opponents in the bot lane. ;)

Early game his DoT does less damage than champions health regen.

One stack, 2 stacks do more than leona's hp regen actaully, it's pretty rare for a bot lane champ to have more than 4hp regen at low levels, fully stacked it's enough to probably every champion and even damage them, but as I said you just need 2 stacks to counter tank supports at level 1 and since at level 2 you can apply 4 stacks pretty fast his DoT is always more than enough to counter hp regen.
