So I just lost a tower after the enemy jungler unsuccessfully ganked top at lvl 5
Why even have lanes or gold or minions, just have an arena where 10 people fight it out at level 1 winner wins the game.

Which tower did you lose? Because if he forced you to back and then took your tower I'd call that a successful gank.

The gank was a success then ... most tend to only correlate a kill with success but the way you win the game is by taking objectives so if he died but it forced you back and there was a good sized wave pushing to your tower and they were then able to take the tower ht JG death is well worth it and that gank is way more successful compared to just a simple kill!
So he pushed you out of your lane and they took your tower before you recalled and got back to defend...... sounds like you just got outplayed. so you were either against a ziggs in mid or you had been pushed in all match so your turret was getting ticked down even before the jungler came............ sounds like you just got outplayed
how often the enemy jungler ganks isnt really determined by riot unless you make junlgers overlevel so much you roflol stop any ganks or underlevel so you can never enter lane and in turn get ganked in your jungle by lanes. if they keep it roughly even then you cant really influence how much people gank. if the jungler caused you to back and got tower off of it that gank wasnt unsucessful
uh, so why didn't you defend the tower if it was unsuccessful?
surely you can hold a tower 2v1 that early...
