Fizz is played top for the exact same reason as Ekko. Insane mobility*, builds tank, does loads of damage. Fizz needs a nerf.
EDIT: MB, insane utility was a bit of a overstretch, I meant mobility, was just trying to get my point across. But to be honest he does a lot of damage while building tank and has one of the most annoying abilities in the game on a 4 second cooldown (probably what makes it annoying).
I just want to see Fizz stop building tank.

they are removing the slow on his passive, Q and W you have to be braindead in order to get hit by them and the low heal only applies to self, so according to you thats not utility.

Fizz is just a niche tank doesn't offer anything reliable for a tank and can't keep a team busy nor actually keep up with targets once ulti is down.

EcchiOtakuTM1 votesIf he uses troll pole to stick onto you he has no escapes if he saves it to run he can't stick and even if he uses it to stick he doesn't have anywhere close to as much stickiness as ekko has and ekko doesn't even need ulti for his hard CC which is easier to use on an entire team.
And ekko can PERMA-slow which fizz can't cause unless fizz ekko can do it through AAs, casting, stun field, and a ranged skill. Ekko doesn't have to all-in to get off his cc.

Fizz doesn't have utility. Tank Fizz is basically the same thing as Heimerdinger top with 
. He's just there to annoy you in lane and be a mobile tank. I recently played a game as tank Fizz vs Jax. Despite getting first blood and a slight CS advantage, I lost lane because Fizz isn't good and Jax scales really well.
Just build 
if you're having a bad time and then go about your normal build route. You'll win eventually.

Troll for Trump1 votesYeah, but what would you change? The best you can do is make his E slow scale with Ap. Making the dmg amplification on ult would make AP fizz strong. I believe Fizz used to have lower base dmg and higher scalings, but that led to a dominance of Ap fizz, which was just as bad.
I believe there was a suggestion to increase the cd of FIzz's E and make it scale down with Ap, or the untargebility duration scale up with AP or what not.
Another one was for his E's cd to be a lot longer, but reset on kills/assists.
Sire Hippington1 voteshe's mostly played for s good laneing with a terrifying 1v1 in the midgame and good snowball potential befor falling of rather hard later on, and unlike ekko, he sees les succes as tank when as ap-assasin, even if played top. And the reason for that is that unlike ekko, he has nearly no utillity. If going tanky, his damage falls off later on, and besides damage, he brings nothing for his team.
