2 picks I don't understand why they are popular: Ryze mid and Fizz jungle (AP)

Suddenly people started to play a lot of Ryze mid and Fizz jungle but it's AP Fizz.

I would like to ask if those picks have been used on the Worlds because due to some problems I didn't had time to watch the last Worlds games.

As far as I know, Ryze has always been considered a mediocre pick for mid due to his low range, and as for Fizz, he indeed is a good AP jungler, but he has never been popular as an AP jungler before, and even when he was a popular jungler, he was used as an AD champion. (I still often use Sated Devourer AD Fizz or Runeglaive AP Fizz, that depends from whether my team needs an AP or a bruiser)
