Am I supposed to ditch Sona as my rank gets higher?

Just wondering if this is the intended design Riot has set up for Sona, she's a champion who performs incredibly well off enemy misinformation and mistakes but gets shat on by people who know what they are doing

Currently in Diamond Sona is hovering around 46% winrate, am I supposed to cut ties with one of my fave champions just because they are balanced in a way that they are just a pubstomper and if you bother to spend a bunch of time with her, well it's a wasted effort and that just feels bad...

You recently did a "skillfloor expansion" for Alistar that allowed him to do his headbut-pulverise combo much easier, and I am wondering if there is or could possibly be some "skillcieling expansion" for champions like Sona where it makes her counters perhaps not so devastating to contend against and give a reason to consider picking her once you are plat+

I would even suggest a nerf to her pubstomping powers if you could broaden her ability to be viable at higher elos and not just a joke of a champion, i'd say that is fair

I loveeeee sona, when I play yi, it's so fun shredding her in two hits.

I'd say do whatever you want to do, there's no point in ditching your fave champ, just find new ways to make her work the way you want.

Lots of people main "weak" or non-meta picks at high elo and succeed with their mastery of that champ. I guess it would be harder to do this with Sona since her kit is so straight forward and well known, but if you're good with her keep using what works for you.

You can still do really well with her in high elos , although Sona is probably one of the easiest champions in the game to play.

There is still a difference between a good Sona and a bad one! ^-^

Looking at lolking Sona's winrate gets lower the higher the division goes. It's up to you if you want to drop her. I main Lulu support, but recently had to drop her for Janna because she just isn't effective enough has a support in high elo.

I think you can climb with anything reasonable, but it just takes longer than using the high winrate stuff.

I just laned against a Sona for the first time in well over a week. At level 1, she literally couldn't do anything as I first-blooded her before the 2nd wave of minions had even arrived, her ADC was helpless and could only stand and watch as I turned my attention to him when he tried to retaliate, only to back off and abandon the useless Sona. This was 2v1 as my duo partner walked off to ward river in anticipation of a level 2 jungle-gank. My Piltover Peacemakers were cutting off a quarter of her entire health bar through minions. At level 6, I instantly tried to ult enemy adc who was at 10% hp, naturally the half-health Sona threw herself in front of the bullet... and died. It's not like she was even full-squish, she had +9 armor and a complete Sightstone. My team was freaking out, confused why Sona was dying in literally 2 hits, even with her "shield" + "heal".

Whelp, I'd say this mostly just displays the fact she's the squishiest support after Zyra, but it's not an exaggeration to say Sona is the weakest support in this game.
