This is basically what the Mage update would've been if it was like the Assassin update

Akali is SO HOT··19 votes·818 views

Taking 4 random champions:

Ahri: -Passive heal increased -Q base damage lowered -E base damage lowered -Static cooldown between casts on ult now 3 seconds up from 1 -Global 0.5 second cooldown on all abilities after each ult cast

Annie: -After using an ability at max passive stacks, Annie now has to wait 2 seconds after the ability has hit the enemy and then auto attack them to stun them

  • Q now has a long cast time and travel time -Ult has a 3 second cast time before the initial damage -Tibbers is very small at close range, but gets bigger the father away Annie casts it from her

Heimerdinger: -Turrets cannot attack the target more than once every 3 seconds -Turret AI worsened -Stun base damage decreased -Ult now lets him dash a short distance

Veigar: -Bonus AP passive removed -Base damage on W decreased -Cast time increased on E -If Veigar kills an enemy with his ult that has more AP than him, then he gets some AP

New items added for supports: Epic rework item: Stats: -Mages can no longer damage or CC enemy ADCs

yep

I would seriously quit League forever if they did that to Veigar.

They did a very similar thing to Zed so it would be fine if they did it to Veigar right? :^)

Arakadia9 votes

Zed didn't lose 200 AD late game like Veigar would in your post. Nor was Zed's lockdown spell nerfed, probably because he has no lockdown spell.

He does get a lockdown on his ult, though.

Arakadia2 votes

His ult stops his enemy from moving? A lockdown spells holds the enemy in place.

Zed's ult is a gapclosing ability.

You realise kills between levels 6 and around 15-16 almost always result in Zed netting more AD than before?

No-one put more than 1 rank into W before level 11. You got 4% bonus AD. Let's just for a second assume that you kill a 0 AD enemy champion. How much bonus AD would you need with Zed's old W passive at 4% to get the 5 AD that his ult gives? You'd need 125 bonus AD, that's basically 2 items, or 1 and a half with runes. This is also an impossible scenario, since Zed's ult scales with base AD. In your worst case, killing a level 1 Orianna you gain 7 AD, the equivalent of 175 bonus AD.

Those are the numbers for a rank 1 ult against an unrealistically underleveled AP champion, when you kill an AD champion with a rank 2 ult you can end up with cases where you'd need over 800 bonus AD to equal out, against Jhin it can be in the thousands. There's certainly cases where Zed's ult more than makes up for his old W passive, it's unquestionably stronger in the early and mid game if you can get even 1 kill.

Yes, in the midgame you can get extra AD, but it's not reliable like the old W and as soon as you put points in W the old passive outscales the new one.

You need at least 4 points in W for it to outscale. That's level 17. How many games are decided after you hit 17? Zed gets a large early-mid game benefit at the cost of a small potential end game deficit. End game is the least important form of power because few games go to it and many of the games that do are decided earlier. If something's made stronger early and weaker late it's probably just stronger.

veigar used to steal AP from enemies back in beta, they just gave this to zed instead

This post is so salty. You need to get over the fact that Akali having 3 targeted dashes means that she can't just instagib people like you want. The rework didn't help her much but it also made her way healthier. You have to actually work to kill someone instead of obliterating them at level 6.

Have you stopped to think that when a champion who only brings damage and nothing else is doing not just well bellow average damage, but some of the lowest damage for her role (47 out of 48) there's a slight problem? Even the purest utility mages like Zilean and Lisandra are out damaging Akali and damage is literally all Akali brings to a team.

Obviously Akali shouldn't be dealing the damage of a Xerath, because poke tends to have inflated damage numbers, but she should probably outdamage someone like Yasuo, who has all the mobility of Akali as well as bringing masses of utility.

And? My main is doing worse while being immobile and falling off much harder. Akali has a 46% winrate mid and a 48% winrate top. Tahm Kench has a 45% winrate top and a 47% winrate middle, but you don't see me making passive-aggressive, unproductive posts every other day complaining about how an update screwed over my champion (when it did - 6.13).

Akali is a flawed design that is destined to be gimped - oppressive mobility with little counterplay, since it is point and click. She was badly designed before the update and still suffers from her same problems now, albeit slower but with more potential damage. Assassin mains need to accept that instant burst combined with mobility is unhealthy, and that you can't just instakill people anymore. Yes, mages and ADCs are overtuned, but we need to tone them down instead of arbitrarily buffing assassins, which will only create another toxic arms race like we had earlier this season, when assassins and mages were much more at odds, and assassins were arguably more effective.

Damn I upvote to all of the discussions that you make.

These are garbage comparisons. Your comparing Annie to Fizz here, and what your suggesting would gut Annie. Fizz has all the mobility and some CC to s tick to his targets, but Annie doesn't. Fizz has to wait for his increased damage, but your proposing that the equivalent for Annie is having to wait to even lock your target down.

Arakadia1 votes

Well the people like DatFatGuy who just upvote these assassin threads without thinking about them seem to not want to use logic. Because atleast 3 people downvoted without commenting.

The large updates for the Assassins were overwhelmingly good. Talon, Kat and LB all came out far better than they started. I'm fairly sure Rengar would have too if Riot didn't decide his identity was being cancer, even still, he may not be better but he sure as hell didn't come out worse either. I'd say you have 3 positive reworks and 1 neutral here, that's not a bad run on those.

Just to be clear here Talon may still be too weak, but I think his playstyle improved massively. Riot did say they're likely to be buffing Lethality up though, so there's a fair chance he'll be OK after that.

Where Riot failed was on the small scale reworks. The Akali rework is an utter mess, the Shaco rework had zero foresight and I don't understand who thought letting Fizz have a football field for an ult was a good idea. These 3 reworks were massively negative in terms of direction. The problem is that since Riot passed them off as 'small scale' they pushed them through with far less player testing than the other reworks. Because of this they never had anyone there to tell them not to do stupid shit, so they went right ahead and did the stupid shit.

The exact same thing happened with Syndra. Riot didn't playtest their dumb changes with Syndra players, there was an outcry before the changes, Riot pushed them live anyway, 6 months down the line we're getting rid of them because they're garbage.

I also personally believe this happened with Zyra. I think Riot had an even more 'fuck you play support' kit lined up but had to rush to try to fix it when they realised there's actually a fair player base for mid Zyra. Because they had to rush the rework out it came out as an utterly terrible net negative rework that once again wasn't playtested properly.

I wouldn't mind if they done that to ahri though. Foxslut should suffer.

Annie:

Passive:

  • Now only gains passive stacks from ability casts that damage at least one enemy.
  • Stacks now disappear after 10 seconds (adding a new stack will reset the timeout)

Ultimate:

  • Tibbers now flies to the target location, similar to Nami's Aqua Prison
  • Tibbers now stuns all enemies struck when he spawns, regardless of passive stacks

Syndra:

W:

  • Impact radius reduces by 30%
  • Now deals some true damage at max rank

Ultimate:

  • Additional spheres now only deal half damage if the sphere did not hit a champion before being pulled into the ultimate (damage per sphere that hit a champion increased.)

Edit: Added some buffs alongside the nerfs.

Arakadia1 votes

This is nothing but nerfs. The assassin update had some buffs atleast. And your comparing totally different champions and making up nerfs that don't even look like the assassin changes.
