What was the problem behind the original Rift Herald buff again?

The one where it gave one person Baron minions? Seems like a less heavy-handed version of the current Rift Herald

For the first version of the buff, the time and effort of taking it from Herald wasn't worth it. They weren't even Baron minions, they just attacked 50% faster. The buff was practically useless.

For the second version of the buff, our most recent Void Superbuff, had the problem of only being usable by Top laners since it only worked while isolated. It also made a snowball lane (Where a Top took the Herald) even more snow-bally. And let's face it, the timer on that buff was complete bullshit.

This third-generation one might be changed too, or maybe Riot's finally balanced it... We'll see.

I don't think the buff was a problem. I think it's so lower Elos paid more attention to it since I rarely saw people take herald

I will say this new one is larger and flashier, so it feels like it makes an impact.

only strong splitpushers that needed early help (eg fiora) took it and they had to have earned an advantage to do it anyways
