You know what I don't understand

Is why everyone hates people playing new champs in ranked. People like me who have all the champs and have tons of excess IP can usually pick up new champs really easily and still do well with them. Now granted the amount of people actually playing them with that much experience is low. But to go as far as to ban him every single game regardless of circumstances is kind of a bit salty.

I haven't played Sol yet, but I do already own him. I will play him in blinds and draft first, but I mean unless you are in bronze there are going to be very few first time Sols in ranked. When Jhin was released I played 3 games with him in ranked after 2 games in normals. I steamrolled 2 of the 3 games because people had no clue what I did even with my mechanics being kind of above average with him. Now I can actually play him and understand that he isn't a pick all the time champ he is comp based. The thing is you are burning a ban slot on something that probably nets you a higher win chance. If you ban him the enemy team can't have a bad Sol, but you can also block out someone who is good with Sol who could stomp the enemy team who hasn't dealt with his mechanics enough yet.

I feel like if you pick up a new champ you can probably hit a 60% win rate with them in the first 2 weeks easily if you learn them because so many people are still adjusting to them. Most champs only have low win rates in the beginning because people pick champs up for the looks or they are new. I can't tell you how many times with Jhin in the first 3 games I sniped a Yi who should have just left my ult but instead recalled in it. Or the enemy team would just never dive me because that was my weakness. But then again in those first few weeks I also could abuse the fact that a lot of people would go Janna Jhin and pick someone really sticky like my main Gnar. Because Jhin requires a front line to peel not a back line meaning that their bot lane was just a hindrance to their team regardless of the Jhin's skill.

Feel free to keep perma banning Sol, but do realize it is kind of pointless to ban a new champ when its already a 50% chance of it being really good or bad when you could ban someone like Graves for literally breaking their class and just tilting games in their teams favor if you don't pick them.

It's an extremely selfish pick because not only do the other team not know his kit yet, but your team doesn't. Nobody wants someone playing a champion for purely their own benefits, and especially when there's the very likely chance that they themselves don't know how the champion works yet. Play a champion your good at that your team can rely on, don't bank on the chance that the other team is stupid enough to feed you because it's a new champion...
