Let's Theory Craft Azir
Alright so as everyone knows Azir has been updated and he is about to hit live within a week's time. That means everyone is going to have a new tool in the box to play with so I figured why not think up some options for Azir, lanes, builds, etc and see if when he hits live we can all be prepared for the Emperor to return!
Please be nice in the comments and let's help each other out! Even if you are a noob or a pro Azir, we should work together!
Now time for some of my suggestions for the Bird King himself!

First for max order I would probably go something like Q max first with W and E being varied. W for raw damage but E for survivability. Q max is still the most important in my mind due to the major need of shifting your soldiers around quickly while also giving you the most poke damage and wave clear. Q max just still remains the most powerful option in my mind. W and E are both really good second options in my mind. W will increase your DPS and bring you to your full power spike a lot sooner but E gives you more aggressive options while also allowing you to disengage more often. E is a good second max but limited from game to game.
Items may vary a lot from game to game but I think the core items are probably going to land something like;
Core Items ->

I say these will probably be core due to Nashor's still being Azir's best item giving him the highest damage output while also allowing him to farm without soldiers easier. The attack speed is just massive and with the new W bonus, he is going to be attacking super fast. Hourglass is going to be core due to the active. You will likely be going in a lot more often and you aren't Lee Sin sadly so you will need some survivability. Hourglass will give you that ability to pull off the shuffle and live to tell about it. Finally I would consider Rod core due to 2 factors. First being the Health. Since you are going to be shorter range and going more aggressive the HP will be a massive boost in your survivability. Every bit helps! The second is mana. One issue with live Azir is the lack of mana options and with Rod, you will get some sustain mana wise allowing you to be aggressive as well since you can spam Soldiers and Qs more often. Overall just a good core set in my mind.
Situational Items ->

Now these items would be what I consider situational items. You won't be building these every game but they can be handy for some games. Mask is a tankier option to replace Rod while still keeping some of your damage. The item does grant you a fair amount of sustain as well so if you are into heavy AP then I would replace Rod with Mask. Banishees and Ludens are a good pair for single target skill shots like Thresh, Blitz, Etc. Luden's movement speed gives you the ability to dodge a little more while Banishees is just a good option for really be pick spells. Again, good replacements for Rod. Finally you have Rylai's and Laundry's. Rylai's as you would guess replaces Rod for the tankier spot but this item is an Azir classic. Pick it if you want to increase your catch potential. The mask is paired with it to get a better tank shredding since Azir can already dps a lot.
Finally I have the late game items!
Final Items ->

Typically after you finish your core you will want to grab Void and Boots. Sometimes you will need to grab them before you finish one of your other items but Azir is good enough at laying out damage that Void isn't a must. Still good for rounding out your late game damage. Deathcap is there to max out your overall damage. Easy to swap out.
That would cover the items!
Now the last thing I want to cover is lanes that Azir may like and find success in. With this updated kit I do think his role options have opened up and we will just have to see where he lands within the game. I'll rate every role out of 5 viability. 0 is terrible and 5 is good.So let's cover it from Top to Bot!
Top - This role actually will seem to work fine in my mind. Top lane Azir is not something you probably have seen but it does work out well. Since this Azir wants to be more aggressive, he'll be somewhat tankier. He'll probably work like a Lissandra top lane with a very niche role up there. Viability 2/5
Jungle - I can already see people trying this and I do think while it may work, it isn't very viable. He doesn't have a proper gank until six, his clear will likely be only decent and his main power will relay on him getting 3 soldiers out. Just better options. Viability 0/5
Mid - The Bird's main role. Will have clear counters now but I do see some issues arising from his rework. While is power is put into more aggressive play patterns, this will lead to junglers prying on the chicken more often. Hard to determine how strong he will be until we see the match-ups but this will likely remain his primary role. Viability 3/5
ADC - Alright so I am going to be honest but I honestly believe that Azir will likely be a really viable ADC. His main DPS is locked to Soldiers and their auto attacks and he is capable of outputting high amounts of damage while hitting multiple targets. Hell, he is marked as a Marksman in his roles! I do think with a support and in bot, a lot of his weaknesses will actually be covered up compared to mid. I honestly believe if people were to pick this up, Azir could be a very viable late game Marksman with a strong enough early game to beat out the babies ADCs within it!
Viability 4/5
Support - Again, another role that I do think Azir will like. A playmaker in the bot lane that will be like a weird mix of Leona and Vel'koz. Slightly unreliable but still seeming strong enough to work. Could work well if the player works on it! Viability 3/5
And that's about it for my theory crafting and ideas behind how Azir will work! Love to hear what you guys have to say and if we got any Azir noobs out there feel free to ask questions! Thanks everyone!
