It wouldn't be half as bad if Riot actually implemented a general chat room that you could recruit in IN THE CLIENT, like literally every other online game out there. Hell, there are phone games with general chat rooms build in. It's been 10 years Riot, this should have been implemented long ago.

Well, it was pretty stupid to remove. Team games, with missions requiring you to compose teams, need to have ways to build those teams in game from the general public.

ummm this was back when we didnt have flex and the 2 ranked ques were solo/duo and ranked 5s as in you made a team with 2 subs and you all shard the rank as a team. and if you really want to there are sites that help with looking for others to play or que with as well. im assuming the general chat that used to be in game was replaced by the clubs.

Heroes of the storm has several, including a general chat, and that game's supposed to be dead.

General chat would make the league community feel closer imo. It'd be fun to log on and join the masses in real time discussion

Friends? It's better to do this mission with your enemies. If you see them AFK, intentionally feed, or try to assist the enemy team in any way, you can accurately report them.
