I liked 4 very much, but what ruined it for me were the champions released that season including Yasuo, Jinx and Lucian. Lucian brought hyper mobility to ADC, Jinx's aoe crits were impossible to deal with at the time and Yasuo is still considered the most broken overloaded tumor to this very day. But then again late season 5 brought the Fiora and GP rework and juggernaut patch so there's that. I guess season 2 was clearly the best one, even though we had to deal with Rengar and Lee Sin.

I don't understand the logic behind treating Pre-Season like its the goddamn PTR. Pre-Season is not an excuse for horrible balancing decisions that don't even need testing in order to be deemed awful.

Preseason 8 carried with it literally the biggest set of changes the game has ever seen. We knew this going in. I would think it would be common sense to assume that the problems would persist after only three patches. Even if it’s not, Riot made a point of repeatedly saying that the problems would continue well beyond preseason. Of course it’s going to take forever for them to get it right, they literally scrapped the entire runes and masteries systems and replaced them with something new. I don’t know what kind of person has been trying to use the excuse of “it’s just preseason”, but anyone who buys it proves that there really is one born every minute. Don’t get me wrong; the state of the game is fucked up and desperately needs fixing, but one thing at a time, guys.

Preseason was patch 7.22, we had 7.23 and 7.23b and are now on 8.5 (live). It has been 8 patches and over 4 months.

This runes system is nearly identical to the old masteries system with trees and keystones, and they are having almost identical problems to when they first introduced keystones in the first place over two years ago now. They could have learned their lessons but decided not to.

Quit making excuses for them and hold them to higher standards.

What do you mean “identical”? Okay, so there are trees, keystones, and a handful got carried over... what else? There are now five trees, you have to make this-or-that choices between three at all tiers now instead of distributing points, you can only have attributes from two trees, not to mention the level of interactivity most of the new runes have. There are plenty other differences, but I won’t waste your time.

Also, nobody’s denying that the problems are there. I’m just pointing out that patience is needed here.

You completely ignored the last sentence. I’m not making excuses, I’m just saying that, any way you slice it, it’s going to take a while. I want them to fix this stuff as much as you do, but I recognize that this isn’t exactly your average balance issue.

Damage and mobility creep are the cancer. I don't know if there's still time to cure those cancers, but I know that as long as they are in this game, things will just get perpetually worse.

Its just really funny how we rotate. We buff defense, cause its weak, we buff jungle, because its too easy to clear... Then suddenly we buff x role because its under preforming. Then jungle is too easy, so we need to buff jungle. Its basically just an endless cycle because they don't want to hit underlying issues like x class is abusing an item, and we need to make a ranged and melee version.

No it's still preseason tbh. The preseason changes were just too huge this time around so it's spilling way too much over into the actual season.

This will likely be the story for all of season 8. Season 8 is most likely going to be basically a season of preseason.

For me as well, it feels like this whole season is a pre-season.

-Runes getting added and reworked. -Items getting changed and added.

Some things that were stable (at least until mid-season last year), they are changing at random times this year. I wonder how this has affected the pro scene tbh.

Well, a lot of changes went into play during pre-season. Runes and BE being the major ones, it was never going to be perfect, in fact it was expected. Everything is plug and play friendos, mistakes must be made. They couldn’t continue to delay Season 8, considering it was already longer by almost a month compared to Season 7 if I’m not mistaken. I don’t know the cold hard facts, just throwing my opinion into the mix, hope that’s allowed. :^)
