I wonder who's going to win this game
Good thing bot lane fed 5 times in 3 minutes.

I love that one of the players isn't even level 30 lol
Is it just that the matchmaking algorithm is bugged? I'd be interested in seeing a Riot response to this kind of issue, because it's been over a year now that players have experienced grossly imbalanced games like these, and it doesn't seem to have anything to do with optimizing on time or quality. With just this one, you could swap a few players around and the teams would be significantly less stacked, even if there would still be far too much of an elo spread.
Also, for those doubting this or calling a photoshop, this game actually happened. You can check Kr1sys's op.gg and it should be his most recent game, at the time I wrote this. This is something League's matchmaking system allowed. It's not simply a matter of outliers, either, this is something that should never happen under any circumstances, because there is a clear matchmaking solution that allows for a less imbalanced elo distribution using only the players in that match. This alone is proof that Riot's matchmaking algorithm has at least some sort of issue where it's not handling certain matches as it should, regardless of statistics. The fact that there are now hundreds of reported cases like these (and, again, these are just the ones that got reported) also indicates that this is a problem that has occurred for a great deal many players. This is something that really should require an urgent fix, but that has remained unaddressed for months now.
It feels like normal matchmaking allways does this. I actually find normals harder than ranked because normal matchmaking wont let me win.

The normals algorithm feels really fucked. I've had games where I've been on the opposite side, but more often than not I'm playing up against some plats/diamonds and paired up with some low(er) elo people.
Ranked mmr and normal mmr are separate. That's the problem. Working as intended, though :(
The player at the 1500 side needed to revert back to their 50% winrate. Next 5-6 games should be heavily stacked against after which you get 5-6 freebies.

Also spoke the Makuta.
It's not bugged. It just treats normals and ranked separately. The thing is, some players treat normals very seriously and some play them only to try out a new troll pick one thousand AP Riven one shot. Matching such players with each other is pointless, even if they are the same ELO.
The alogorithm could try to mix the teams based on their ranked MMR, but there's little point, players whine about ranked matchmaking all the time, too.
Tough to say
It's clear that everyone is the same rank/level....
This was a semi recent flex queue for me https://m.imgur.com/sVlLQgI
I agree overall with this post, but Flex que is always going to be iffy. It is meant to basically be played with your friends.
Even if you guys were all plat, and they were all silvers/golds, they'd still win. Their team is kind of idiot proof and a free win -- and your team has nothing to fight back with.
... but games aren't won at champ select. Psh. Silly me.
Are you saying that a silver 1 and gold 4 players can do beter than a plat 4 and diamond 4 players? Even if they have a better team comp they will just get stomped becuse they are probaly beter at mechanics and game knowledge
Not how it works in League -- at least, not anymore. Games are decided at champ select now.
Just look at the picture above the plats have a bad team comp and they still won.Its plyer skill and game knowledge that matters. And yes i know team comp is important but if lime in this case botlane lost hard there is not much you can do when a fed adc twoshots a midlaner. The games are not over in champ select now its who won their lane beacuse of the snowball efect we have with the new runes
I had a game where my entire team was high bronze with me in s2, and the enemy team was straight g4-5. It's not like the game was unwinnable but it really frustrated me. Something needs to be done. I really hate it when the everyone in the game is not as good as ONE player, even on the winning team, and because they happened to be the yasuo theres nothing you can do.

This was a game I played recently. Even though my team had a Bard mid, it was clear my team was going to lose. Eventually, some of my team even just DC'd because it was so obviously unwinnable. I was the Silver 3 Sona... you'd think that since Silver had so many people that it'd be the easiest to find a somewhat balanced 5v5 match.
Normal matchmaking and flexis special olympics tier .
Rank is no better any way.
[zombie-brand-clap]
Who cares about normal games.. Rank doesn't play a role in matchmaking here, it's all about matchmaking rating. If a low level player is overperforming and is on a solid 80%+ it makes perfect sense for him to be in this match.
the problem is normals mmr is separate from ranked. Say a player is silver in both and that matches their ability. Then they play exclusively ranked until they are plat and deserve to be. If they queue up for normals, they will count as silver mmr still.
The ladder was designed the same in sc2 and while it makes for some really bad games sometimes, it is better overall. It means you can play literally however you want in normals, and if that's a weaker strat, you will have lower mmr and it will all even out. you can try things and just play for fun, without HAVING to tryhard because you are playing people of the same level as in ranked
Honestly even as a diamond when I queue with other plats we do lose a lot of games. Most of time we are either trolling our friends or just screwing around and having fun (which is the point in normals)... I don't know how often it happens to you, but if you lose and they were tryharding in a normal for whatever reason just learn from the experience instead of just complaining about it. At the start of the season during my placements I was placed vs meteos and LOD and got stomped, but I looked at what they did and what I did to lose the game. It can be good or bad getting matched up with higher people, but you can just learn from the experience. If you go into a game with a positive attitude and are willing to try no matter what then you can easily spot simple things you need to reach their tiers :). (Also side note it really isn't fun going vs unranks/bronze players... it feels kinda like beating up a baby that doesn't understand yet.)
tl;dr just learn from what they do if you lose. ie. How did their jungler sneak up on us? When did the enemy bot lane back so we can learn and get that gold and xp advantage etc.
Thia isnt about how to get higher elo its how sometimes you get unbalanced teams where the game is onesided in normals.People dont play normals to tryhard they want to relax if relaxing is getting stomped by plats while you are silver its not fun its not fair and you certanly wont say oh i got stomped really hard by high elo players what can i learn from this, you will probaly say fuck this stupid matchmakimg system i am not playing anymore.
You post constructive advice and get downvoted, just more proof that the boards are filled with salty children.
Look man, clearly you had too many wins and the Jarvan had too many losses. Need to get that 50% somehow!
i wonder who's dat one guy that downvoted the post..
Normal matchmaking is "special" to say the least.
Normals lul
Thats why i call Ranked matchmaking onesided and rigged
Its a normal game that uses your normal game MMR. This is nothing new and hasn't been changed since the game started. You could be Challenger in solo/duo and have an MMR of 800 for normals (low bronze).

so what's the level 23 doing on my team?
Level doesn't matter. It is all hidden MMR. Your level 23 probably passed through smurf detection and got bumped up. I am not actively trying to defend the "awful" matchmaking, but explaining why the matchmaking is "awful" and why this is absolutely nothing new.
Wow that's pretty uneven if rank is any indication. Maybe the high ranked accounts were boosted and the bad players took back over them and had been consistently playing at the same MMR as you?
Also was this recent?
Clearly the top team, since bot team only has 4 players...
Kappa
Realistically, riot's matchmaking when you throw any two people with 2+ divisions of separation is bizarre. I'm plat and I play with my silver/bronze friends all the time, and it can be a mess of skill all over the place.
When you try to duoQ with someone more than 4 divisions rank difference from you the system just breaks and goes full retard.
Riot wins as always....Kappa...
You didn't blur out the summoner's names, where is boards moderation lmao...
I never quite got why people do this. In his case he didn't even say anything negative so making them anon really isnt important. If someone really wants to find out who they were they will just go into the persons history...

Super challenging to just go to op.gg and see who they are anyways right
this is nothing.
Create a new Account and around lv 10-11ish you will find yourself matched against Diamond who premade with a lv 7, just to ruin the early-new-player experience.
guess who will win that one if ezreal gets 12 kills in 7min
