Why are boards knee-jerk reactions and a severe lack of research/forethought?

  • Riot is reducing damage, buffing tanks, and overall attempting to slow Summoner's Rift game pacing from now and throughout S9.
  • Riot intends to remove the ability to have access to Stormrazor and Duskblade passives simultaneously in a single item build.
  • Riot is implementing the ability to select your stats separate from the current runes/masteries; creating a similar feel of the old system.
  • Riot plans to reduce front-loaded burst coming into S9.
  • Riot is working on making Zoe less frustrating to play & lane against.
  • Riot is introducing a fast-paced mode with a short map that is gaining great reception on PBE for the fans of how SR has felt for a while now.
  • Riot acknowledged the state of ADCs, and wants Bot Lane to return to a similar feel of what it had prior to it becoming warped and involving a domination by Vlad/Heimer/Swain/etc - and then re-approach how they can allow ADCs to branch out from Bot.
  • Riot acknowledged how easily one team can snowball, but also acknowledged how hard it can be to comeback; they want to approach this and find a balance.

In short, I'm tired of seeing the boards be an echo chamber of complaints rather than actual observations and assessments of the game in search of aiding Riot in seeing possible solutions.

This has been boards since like season negative 2. Their first complaint was that league had not yet been developed.

I'm guessing it's because people are upset that it took them (Riot) several months before they addressed these problems and took action, and that most of these changes won't go into effect until late S8-S9.

People are fed up and impatient, they want the changes now and if they don't get them, they come here to the boards.

At least, that's how my assessment of the situation goes.

  1. Kids and dumbfucks.

  2. It's not enough overall.

This game is played by little kiddos that think they're entitled to everything they want and can never be pleased. Boards has always been like this even when League was on the other side of the spectrum.

Complaining about shit is incredibly satisfying and therapeutic, it's why so many people make every small change look like the end of the universe. Whenever there's a meta you don't like just wait it out; it will change, it always does.

The problem is that Riot's plan to fix shit isn't the way people want it to be, people want RunesReforged gone, They heavily fucked up with it so people want to gone completely because of the fact it ruined a whole season, it is a bad memory to the players.

Wait, but here is a question, these have been problems all year, why S9? Why is everything revolving around the new season, they can just leave worlds on 8.15 instead of 8.16 since it will be the worlds patch, and actually change things now.

Like lets say that what you are saying is true, why is it taking so damn long? You are going to tell me they intend to fix all of this in the next 4 months? Nah, they won't, every season they say the same thing, they address all the problems directly in a PR response, and then make everything worse. That is how they do things, so when people complain, its because nobody fcking believes them anymore. Nobody believes in Ghostcrawler, and rightly so, hes ruined 4 different games now and still holds his position in the greatest game ever, and most of the balance team lacks a brain.

Just look at the machete and talisman changes. It was so blatantly obvious that if you take away gold if they have the highest minion score with the jungle item, it would be the best way to stop funnelling, what did they do? A last minute decision to nerf everyone who is good at jungling. Congratulations. The problem is they have no clue what they are doing.

Sure I hold hope for season 9, but my hope is that it will become so bursty that it is literally just a shooter in top down view. That would be a fun arcade game to play with friends sometimes. Actually would be more fun than what we currently have. And here is the thing, i am a massive advocate for the game, I love league, but the company has let the community down time and time again, and every time around worlds it looks exactly like it does now. A PR response to stop people from quitting, only to make things worse in the preseason.

People observed problems such as "damage is too high" and Riot confirmed that their statistics show that this observation was correct, frontloaded burst is higher than previous seasons.

I don't exactly see what the problem is.

Some good points but, I would prefer they balance the game instead of always trying to change it.
