theyre generally the safest first picks. the solo lanes get countered pretty easily.

There are a ton of negative consequences of that idea, how on Earth can you tunnel vision so hard on top lane problems? Every role when first picked can be easily countered, not just by the enemy player in that role but also by the rest of the enemy team. I was going to list the problems but they don't even feel worth listing because they're just so obvious - how could each team being able to counter the enemy's support/jungle choice in the perfect way in every single game possibly go well? There isn't a single support or jungler that the enemy team couldn't feasibly draft to make irrelevant.

Jungle and support are already the least popular roles and ranked is having queue time problems as it is due to the lack of people picking support. Why would you make those roles so much worse to play and so much harder to pick for just so what's already among the most popular roles can feel a bit better? If any roles were to be forced into first pick it should be top or mid to incentivise playing the less popular roles, but I'd never suggest that because no role deserves being screwed over like that.

top is defnitely not safe. anything you pick can be hard countered, and its harder to help out that lane than others, when bot lane is so impactful this season.
