Trolling is the only explanation

In this case, it's a story about myself, namely the last game I played before making this thread.

So last night, the client decided to have a heart attack before the game started (with I as Support Braum), and then it failed outright and hardlocked the computer for several minutes. Immediately our Lucian says I'm trolling in the all chat and tells everyone to report me. The hardlock happened right as I tried to get in lane, and caused me to walk right into the enemy champions and give first blood.

That ended up being only one of two deaths I had that entire game. After the client got its shit together, the rest of the game functioned smoothly, and crushed the enemy team. I ended the game at 0/2/16; out of the 23 kills we scored, I was an instrument in 75% of them. But no, even into the post-mortem, I was still taking shit for being a "troll". Do people not understand that there are sometimes hard/software issues beyond your control, and not everyone is a troll trying to ruin the game for you?

I feel for you, it sounds like you had legitimate problems. Sadly, it's often easier for some people to point to others than just say, "It happens."

I do! One of the last few ranked games I played yesterday or day before had a poor Irelia that listed her ping as it climbed throughout the game. She finally started DCing about 15 minutes in and couldn't hold a connection through a team fight for the rest of the game. My team was very forgiving, and I was quite surprised - all the while the other team screamed about their own DC needing to be reported.

One thing I will say: how did you run into the enemy team as soon as you tried to get into lane? Coming out of a lag like that, wouldn't it make sense to just click right behind the turret incase you do lag? That way, even lag will only put you to where your last click was. By clicking in range of them, you are allowing lag to let you die. Just my two cents at least.

It's happened to me. The screen freezes and you can't control your champion any further.

Pain in the ass, to be totally honest.

I understand that happening lol. But when just getting into the game, I don't see why you would click so far into them. Once playing, obviously you have to click around lol. But, you should always click right by the turret when just joining in case you do lag. Prevents at least one bad thing from happening.

Personally, I click the mini-map. That usually means i'm further from the turret than i'd otherwise be.

Lag is worlds different from a hard lock. A hard lock is when the computer and monitor and all processes in between completely freeze up and refuse all inputs for a time. At least with lag, the computer is still functioning.

And I did click behind the turret as I tried to get in lane. Either the client thinks I'm clicking repeatedly (which would be another problem entirely), or the character immediately runs over to autoattack the closest minions.

Your comment makes no sense. Even if the client thought you were "repeatedly clicking", it would still put you there lol.

Which is why I said it would be another problem entirely.

So, how did you run into the enemies by clicking right by your turret?

I've had it where I click to move forward to brush, then notice the enemy start to push forward... but my clicks back towards my turret don't register and I keep moving forward into the enemy. Very frustrating.

It still frustrates me every damn time I start a game, I try to move to Golems and it stops walking every time near the inner turret. I usually have to click another couple of times before it decides to move again.

I do live in UK playing on NA servers though.... gotta love that 200 ping ;)
