PSA that elo hell (still) exists

Inb4 downvotes cause I know people absolutely love whenever I make topics.

Lose enough times in a row? You'll be playing against people a full division down from yourself and you'll be the 'ringer' of the group, which means your enemies will have a stronger team most of the time. If you can't solo carry consistently, in this season, which makes it stupidly hard to solo carry unless you're a champ like Yasuo that gets fed out of his mind..or some kind of Diamond+ smurf, tough luck. I wanna call this MMR hell rather than ELO hell...

Why's matchmaking like this? If anything, if I'm either losing consistently or playing bad it should be placing me with better teams within the mmr range, not worse... I'm also in one of the divisions where boosting and toxicity is at an all-time high (2nd only to Diamond 5).

Matchmaking issues is naturally tied into boosting issues...and there's a pretty clear indicator of boosting. When someone could be Diamond or high plat or something and be feeding consistently every match as a non-support, with less wins than losses.

Can we fix both then? Why do I have to wait a whole other season to have a matchmaking system that's fair?

hell can only exist if you believe in it.

G5 is actually the most boosted ELO because thats where you get the skin :^)

At least there's no LP decay so people stop playing ranked once they hit G5 0 LP.

This is literally what G5 looks like.

I mean.. I"d like to be there. I'm currently silver 1 on my acct, but whenever I win a game, the next 3 are guaranteed to be my team is silver and unranks. Their team is all high gold low plats. Had 3 of those just today.

A good Gold 5 player is way better than a bad Plat 5.

I also think you're lying which is why you are posting on a level 10 account

I don't think it's most boosted, I just think it's most 'at least' gotten to.

I'm curious how you don't see the obvious problem with this. People that lose consistently and have really low mmr for their division are typically people that shouldn't be there (there's the exception for people that have some bad days and just lose a lot, but they'll bounce right back up if it's truly where they should be). If they placed you with better teams because you lost a lot, that would just make it easier for boosters to stay in the elo they don't belong in.

you want a magical fix that will stop boosters and get them demoted to where they belong, but keep players that go on a losing streak in their division. You can't have both.

If someone's boosted, it doesn't matter if they do have better teams. It's still basically a 4 or 4.5v5, which the odds are still in the enemy's favor in that case.
