Hmm...tank items are garbage right now. What should I do? Oh wait, I'll just build AP on Shyvana (who's supposed to be a tank), because damage is so out of control right now that even a tank champion can burst people with an AP build.

tanks such as ivern, maokai, malphite, sion, braum, leaona, taric, etc etc
has sheilds/engage /cc and high durability / disengage but mainly focused on CC abilities and durability with low damage out put.

see you seem to have a misconception here, remember:
tanky =/= tank
example, mundo. hes tanky, but he isnt a tank. same applies for darius, garen, nasus, etc. theyre juggernauts. jax can take about 4-5 towershots before dying in a rank one ult. that doesnt make him a tank. sylas, tanky from RoA, but more of a diver guy.
a tank will never deal as much damage as shyvana can.

galio is a tank and was a tank. he has hard cc, engage /disengage tool use to shield/reduce damage to allies when he ulted. just cuz they keep nerfing his def stats cuz he has too much offensive power dont mean he isnt a tank.
and what would you classify IVERN as? a mage? a carry? a diver/fighter? juggernaut? assassin? nope he is a tank.

Jarvan is a diver. Galio is a control mage. Ivern is a fucking enchanter. If he’s a tank then Janna is a fucking tank.
