Playing on a smurf isnt fun

So I made this acc because some of my higher ELO friends said it was fun to smurf in bronze-gold. It's not. It's so stressful. Like just as an example, last game my Gold 5 Vayne main and Heimer died 15 times apiece in a game that should have been an easy win. It took some restraint not to go off on them tbh. I mean we won, but it wasn't enjoyable. I finally have this account almost to 30 and I'm dreading the last games to get there. This isn't fun.

After playing in somewhat high ELO you expect your team mates to do certain things, have an idea of macro, and at least a bit of map awareness. All of this is lacking in low ELO and it's extremely frustrating when you're expecting things of people. Don't get me wrong, Diamond 4 isnt amazing either, but the lack of basic game knowledge in these lower ELOs is very apparent. I'm sure Masters/Challengers would say the same about me, so this is just my 2 cents.

I guess the point of this thread is to remind people you have a lot to learn and that ELO hell really doesn't exist. You make a lot of mistakes, myself included, that are very obvious to the people at the ELO you claim you are. Focus on improving and stop blaming other people.

So if you were to describe elos like gamer friends at parties this is how you would some it up

Bronze Players- That gamer in the group, that has no fucking clue how to play the game, that kid who can't even do a down right, punch command in a street fighter game, that kid who legit never wins, and when he does, it was most likely given out of pity from a friend in the group.

Silver-That kid in the group who understands how to play the game to a decent enough level where he can have fun, but still doesn't fully understand the game, and will ask his friends to help him out with a tough level. If it's a fighting game, than he is most likely gonna get his face smashed, but don't be surprised if he wins a game or two.

Gold-That kid in the group who enjoys the game, and takes time out of his day to look up guides on how to be better at it. In his group of friends he is pretty respected, but their are still some things he doesn't understand, and will still lose some games occasionally to the lesser people in his group.

Plat-That kid in the group who is seen as a absolute beast, he understands all the cool combos, he almost never loses a match against his friends. Everyone looks up to him.

Diamond: The royalty of the group, he most likely isn't even your friend, probably just shows up once in a while, but when he does show up, he is a king among kings. He is that guy who will make the best player in your group look like trash, he is so good to the point most people in the group don't even like playing against him anymore for they know they are gonna get smashed. He makes good players look like trash, he makes bad players look like a mistake that should of been aborted.

Master/Challenger: The legends, the gods, the ultimate gamer you hear about in stories but you were never quite sure if such a beast exists, he has reached a level where he is so good that he can't even compare his skills to such lowly trash. The only way he can judge if he is getting better is if he was to compare himself to the few who have reached his caliber. If the Diamond was a king, than this man is the God the king worships. No one in your group has even met such a player. You occasionally see him in comic book shops, and when he enters, the room goes silent, he makes his purchase, he leaves, and only when he leaves do the people in the shop, feel comfortable speaking out loud again.

You just have to use a different mindset on low elo, playing in silver/gold like if it was a diamond game is a very bad idea.

Dont expect your team mates to do anything, go ham and solo carry the game, honestly just off mechanics alone you should get fed every game, oh and take everything, every kill/cs/resource on the map.

Dont think I want to acclimate myself to Silver/Gold right before Season 7 starts though

Good evening!

Mostly it dEpends on what champs you play and how good you cooperate/not cooperate with low experienced and low IQ people . Doesn't it?

if you are a smurf you dont give a fuck about your team as long as they dont afk they act as bait for you to capitalise on. had no problem carrying people going 0-10 when i was smurfing on euw. only real reason a smurf would lose below his elo is if people simply afk

You missed the point. I win, but its still not enjoyable. I would rather not acclimate myself to silver/gold ELO right before the new ranked season starts

The extreme KDA's do get pretty boring after a point. It's stressful because multiple things happen and you expect others to. Your team will focus wrong, or go in 4v5. Teams will ARAM mid half the game and you can either split or try to make picks.

Assimilating to low elo once you start feels terrible once you go back onto your main. Instead of those risky plays that you might've been able to get away with in Silver or gold get punished. You can't really just decide to let people suicide anymore either.

It can be fun, but you need to play differently when smurfing, since your teammates are inevitably going to be playing a different game then you. Embrace the fiesta, and play things that you don't normally play, and enjoy the lulz of stomping despite being terrible at your champ. Don't fret losses on a smurf, since they don't matter (and they don't really on your main either since no one cares what rank you are unless you're like top 10), and once you accept they don't matter it's a huge weight off your shoulders. People tend to find losing the stress of 'needing' to win much easier on smurfs, so that can add to the fun.

(Also, be careful when leveling since it's easy to accidentally inflate your normals MMR to silly levels. One of my accounts was getting matched with low diamonds pretty consistently before it was even 30, and I'm not even diamond on my main [this] account. Somewhat defeats the purpose of smurfing if you get matched with your skill peers [or higher] anyway.)

Well plat still feels like silver, so theres that.

It's not lol. Trust me. It only feels that way

i have 3 accounts (had 4) and ive gone through the ranks lol. People in current plat still make the same positioning errors as they did in silver. Its stupid. I mean its gotten better since they removed Dynamic q.. well added solo q again. But the amount of games ive had even till 25 mins only to be thrown by 1-2 ppl who don't know how to position late game is insane...

I've learned to have map awareness and ward like a plat player, my cs is usually better than most opponents i just gotta work on performance, but yeah it's super frustrating when teams make bad calls, don't ward, or simply don't understand how to play safe

its not smurfing if you can't stomp the enemy team

I get fed really easily, the problem is people drag the game out so much longer than it needs to be. Like we'll get a 3 for nothing then instead of rotating mid for 2 free towers, people will go farm jungle or run around their jungle looking for more kills. It's pretty ridiculous. Or the solo split push vayne will see three enemies coming over wards but will stay and try to Gosu 1v3 and die over and over and over

I think smurfing is fun, I have 3 smurf accounts at 30. The key to having fun is not giving a flying shit about whether you win or lose, and just enjoy doing dumb shit and playing with your low elo friends. I also find playing off meta champs very enjoyable, since lower ranked players cannot handle the cheese.
