Is sion op

I had sion and I sucked at him which is why I didn't use him. Well after he collected dust, I heard he was strong so I found him in the closet of champions I don't commonly use. I blew the dist off and took him in a normals vs singed who was an annoying fuck with his run sim. I won lane. I kept split pushing so we lost. I took him ranked and did good vs 666. EZ win. It seems I've actually refined my mechanic just by playing . I think it's been a year since I last played him. My skill build was wrong though. Game 1 was 8-5. Game 2 was 9-3. I played pretty aggressive boylth times and took miniscule amounts of damage from about everything. I felt like he has too much cc almost like naut. Is he currently op right now.

He's strong if played well, and if the enemy is stupid. Really depends on your elo. Bronze-silver he's pretty much a god in the top lane. Just careful picking him into champs like Darius as Sion is extremely squishy early on and has no way to get away from Darius.

He's strong. Play him right he'll do a bunch of dmg and tank like crazy.

That's exactly how it went both times. Tanky as fuck and stupid as fuck dmg.

No. He's not op.

He's not even that strong.

Watch any korean challenger game with sion on a team.. and that team loses.

Sion is never picked in the LCS.

He's not that good.

ppl will say "he's good if played well". So is any champion. Riot can make a champion named "peanut" and is a peanut and only auto attacks and has no skills and no passive and some people will play him and never want him to be changed while saying hes a good champion to some people.

Sion is incredibly potent in a solo que environment over pretty much all Elo's currently.

Yes he doesn't cut the cake for high Elo/professional team play but that is a whole different world when compared to the average gameplay.

yeah see i dont understand that.

That just means he's half a champion.

Pretty much every champion used in high elo/ pro play are also viable in solo queue and in every elo. I don't comprehend why people make this point.

Its because most high elo players know counters and have far more skill and in game knowledge of the game than ur normal bronze to gold player. they know weaknesses and counterpicks. like for instance, zed stomps low elo if you know how to play him and have that kind of skill. same for all high skill-cap champions. if you haven't played at least 100 games, you will fail every time. in low elo, you wil see mostly low skillcap champions or mid skill-caps. but high skill-caps are played by veteran low elo players in low elo since they know more about the game and actually got to practice them. the point is in low elo, they dont know enough about the game and don't have alot of mechanical skill. thats why high skillcap champions stomp(if they ane good ones so srry syndra, ur in a bad spot currently)

As I pointed out above, this still proves my point.

Sion and other "low skill-cap champs" or newbie champions are just half of a champion. You're simply saying that once a player gets good enough, High-skill cap champions become the "real" champions. These are champions that do not care what the opponent skill level is. Sion on the other hand cannot be played the same way. You have to take in consideration the skill level of the enemy team.

What you're essentially saying is that Sion is a Dorans Shield while high skill cap champions are like Cloth Armor. Cloth armor can be upgraded and become stronger and ever more valuable than Dorans Shield. But the Dorans is only good at the start of the game (essentially).

Again, I don't think its a very considerate way of creating champions.

If you just started the game and picked up a champion like Orianna, you will suck hard at first. Eventually... you will get good. When you do get good, you can take Orianna to any level of play so long as you are reaching that skill cap.

Sion, on the other hand, can be played when you first pick him up, and do a bit better at learning his kit and playing well but will falter in higher levels of play even though you've learned him as well as you can. Eventually, you're going to STOP PLAYING SION when you've reached players who can easily exploit his weaknesses. At least I'm sure many people do.

This just makes him seem like less of a champion.

Lulu mid, Orianna in general, Kalista, Thresh, Rek'sai, etc. All champions that perform better in professional play than in solo queue.

Nah I don't agree with that. Mostly because I think its irrelevant not because I think what you say isn't true statistically.

If a plat pro takes any of those champions or sion into bronze they will perform just fine as well as any other elo. But sion as a champion will be at a higher disadvantage in plat+, unlike any of those champs you listed.

The point you're making is that bad players are bad. A true bronze Orianna will not be experienced enough to use her well.

What is this "plat pro" shit? I don't think there is a single professional plat player. Plat players are garbage.

http://champion.gg/champion/Sion/Top

Sion performs so poorly in plat and up that he has the third highest win rate for a top laner in those elos.

Compared to the mediocre to poor performance of the champions I named.

So, what are you basing your statements on? Nothing, as far as I can tell. Is it based on how you feel it works? No one cares about how you feel, nor should they.

I already said statistically the points made above are true.

Maybe I'm wrong, sure. But in the end sion is rarely ever seen in actual pro (challenger and tourney etc) play and if he is he loses. Plat was a bad example, evidently.

Still, I don't think he's as good as anyone would make him out to be. Tryndamere (5th) and Galio (8th) are in the top 10 for winrate but their playrates describe nothing more than situational picks.

But I'm sure im making a very uninteresting point overall. Maybe nobody should care if certain champs are never seen in pro play. I just always felt like that said something about the champion. But again, "feelings".
