Some Mage Junglers

Okay so this post is about giving ideas to help certain traditional mages the ability to jungle; specifically I will introduce ideas for Brand, Malzahar, and Zyra for this post. So you can say my ideas are buffs, but they will NOT grant them anymore power in lane or against champions, they will only gain effects against monsters. One of the main things I will be doing it focus on the early game, especially before level 3, which in turn will make these mages viable as junglers (obviously they can still lane like Malzahar mid and Zyra support and such; this is just a bonus thing of a role they can be played in).

By the way I decided to do this on Brand, Malzahar, and Zyra because these are champions that can jungle, but they just need a little bit of love to make them true viable junglers.

BRAND:

Blaze (Passive): New Additional Effect: Basic attacks against ablaze monsters lowers the cooldown of Brand's non-ultimate abilities by 2 seconds on-hit.

Sear (Q): New Additional Effect: Monsters set ablaze and struck by Sear are stunned for 3 seconds (the stun is normally 2 seconds).

MALZAHAR:

Summoner Voidling (Passive): New Additional Effect: Voidlings take 50% damage from monsters.

Null Zone (W): (New) Passive: Basic attacks deal 2% of the target's maximum health as bonus magic damage on-hit against monsters (maximum 80 bonus magic damage).

Malefic Visions (E): (New) Passive: Malefic Visions against monsters restore 10/14/18/22/26 Mana per second and lower Malefic Visions' cooldown by 15% per second.

Malefic Visions does not have chain mana restore like how it functions in lane, so jungle Malzahar ends up going OOM super fast unlike lane Malzahar where he would use one E and chain it off the entire minion wave replenishing his Mana in the process where as per camp this is not possible since jungling is mainly single target. Over the full 4 seconds duration against monsters Malzahar can restore a maximum of 40/56/72/88/104 Mana and a maximum of 60% cooldown reduction per 4 seconds of Malefic Visions on monsters.

ZYRA:

Deadly Bloom (Q): New Additional Effect: Deals 40% increased damage against monsters and refunds two-thirds of the Mana cost when damaging monsters. Basic attacks on-hit against monsters lowers Deadly Bloom's cooldown by 2 seconds.

Rampant Growth (W): New Additional Effect: Plants take 50% damage from monsters.

Grasping Roots (E): New Additional Effect: Root duration increases to 2.5 seconds against monsters.

NOTE: These values are obviously to help within a season 5 monster environment where the monsters are ubers this season.

i don't agree with these changes. Granted they are cool and provide more diversity they are making champions do a role they weren't meant to do. Riot has already changed two AP champions to suit them in the jungle being gragas and nidalee which in LCS were either pick or ban for the longest time. You also have to keep in mind that champs are played in a usual role because they preform best in that role, brand being mid lane and zyra being a support/mid, nidalee was a moster in season 3 and 4 in the mid and top lane but as soon as she got her passive changed to allow her to jungle that's only where she was played and is still the case today. Same goes for gragas, he was changed to help him find a place in the game as his AP mid lane route got nerfed into the ground. The champions you are talking about already have a place in LoL therefor don't need any changing. If you want a good AP mage jungler someone like diana, elise, cho gath, zac, eve, and fiddle because some of those picks aren't being played and are already jungle ready. Not all champions are designed to jungle and therefor aren't suppose to and won't be changed to do so. And the jungle right now is actually the most diverse it has been in season 5 so don't be afraid to try out cinderhulk, runeglaive, warrior, and devourer junglers alike.

Gragas is because big fat man made no sense to be a squishy damage dealer sniper, which has damage reduction so he was not even that squishy

The post is to increase diversity, not to keep the same champions who jungle already - Zyra, Malzahar, and Brand are all champions who are currently not getting played and are borderline able to jungle this is a push to help them be junglers --- it will be cooler seeing more junglers and not less

all i have to say is that all because they aren't over played doesn't mean it justifies switching there roles. Look at vikor for the longest time he wasn't played even in season 5 until he was played in the korean pro scene then the NA lcs picked him up and is now a normal pick in the mid lane. Once people realize how they play their role and when they are strongest they will get played. They just have to get 'discovered'. There is no reason why brand doesn't fit in as a counter in the tank meta with his AOE and passive. Zyra was in the team comp that won worlds two years ago. As for malzahar he suffers from the same thing yorick, the whole its not fun to play against and 'win lane lose game' kind of playstyle behind him.

It like zed after his nerfs, he does his job still. But now there are people in that role that do it better. That doesn't mean we have to go make zed a jungler cause he isn't the best at his old job. Riot each champ with a specific role or two in mind. If a champ could do anything that alone would make there kit overpowered. Lulu would be the biggest champ that did that being a competitive pick in the top, mid. and support for the longest time before she got mana nerfs to push her out of the top and mid role a little bit. Buff them to be better at there role not someone else's.

their roles are not swapped, these are just jungling buffs - their other roles are still exactly the same

Malzahar actually is weak early and scales later on; cap his CDR and he becomes a hyper mage; also he is nothing like yorick at all

again, this post is making these champions as viable junglers - not to completely change them, there is nothing here that removes their current roles or playstyle

the point to the post is to create more mage junglers, this has nothing to do with brand, zyra, or malzahar - these are three champion that are on the line of being able to jungle so the post is to push these champions in a direct that makes them viable traditional mage junglers, we are not changing anything about them otherwise

um,

I'm not sure I agree with your selection of Champions to make Junglers. Even if you make these champions better at clearing camp, (some what doing so in uncreative ways) They still need to be able to gank, and over all fulfill the role of a Jungler. And of the champs you picked, I feel that only Zyra really has enough CC to be an effective Ganker. And strictly speaking, those jungler buffs, may do more than just buff their Jungle ability.

I think what we need to do, is Identify the AP champs, who have good ability to fulfill the Jungler role first. Then figure out how to increase their clear speed. (or clear health) To get an effective AP Jungler, you would want, good amount of DPS, Mobility, and some CC or Zone control to prevent the enemy from escaping. This in mind, I might try Azir, his Sand soldiers will have exelenct DPS against Jungle camps. While his Q and E give him Zone control, And at best his Emperor's divide can completely cut off the enemies escape.

Brand has a damage and stun, Zyra has the utility, Malzahar has his ultimate and damage --- i picked these champions since they are very low played champions now, but they are champions that can jungle now but need a little bit of help to get there to make them truly viable junglers and they are traditional mages. Traditional mages are immobile, we are not doing this for Elise and Nidalee, we are doing these for the traditional range mages which Malzahar, Brand, and Zyra fit here perfectly; they can afford getting these buffs in their current states.

Azir cannot afford getting any buffs, he is overpowering already; giving even monster only buffs are still buffs so giving buffs to the low played champions make sense instead of for a champion that is already played and a little too strong at the moment.. plus my selection was based off mages that can jungle now, but to be truly viable they need a little bit of help to help them be dedicated junglers --- besides Azir jungle will be only terrifying like season 2 Alistar jungle and is again not a traditional mage, i want some of the immobile traditional mages to be viable junglers and ones that need a little push to be junglers
