New Champion Speculation Before Official Reveal GO!

This is to be a fun post everyone; but I want to see what people think of what kind of species or relate-able species Ekko (the next champion) will be and his spell set and what exactly the new champion would be like his role and stufff and position and all that BEFORE the official announcement. Again this post is primarily for funsies.

I will start and say he is a frog-like champion who is a mage type and has some kind of lick attack for one of his spells. Again, this is probably no where even close to the actual champion, but eh speculation is always fun to see how close or off one was when officially revealed!

We haven't had an ADC in a while.

Nor a full tank. Although there is Braum. But he's support/tank.

We haven't seen an AD caster in a really long time. Lucian comes close though.

Also haven't seen an assassin in a while. Probably long overdue for a new assassin.

Kalista is basically an AD caster because she is reliant on Rend for her damage, and people forget she has a single target physical nuke for her Q, so there is both an ad caster and marksman that is pretty new-ish --- with the name Ekko, i highly doubt it be an assassin, the name doesn't sound like an assassin

Not sure I'd agree with her being an AD caster. Most of her damage will come from her AA's. Although her Rend can stack up to big numbers, that just means she probably did even more with her AA's.

For some reason I get the feeling he might be LoL's answer to the style of champion HotS had with Murlock. Extremely fragile but, can suicide into towers and then respawn at a set place. His leaked champion select quote "Its not about how much time you have, its about how you use it" makes me think that. Also his name is essentially "echo" so respawning is kind of like "echoing".

Either that or he's some sort of time / sound mage.

Zilean is suppose to be a time mage, not sure if riot will create two time mages (even though there is annie and brand as fire mages who both needs rework, annie because of her extremely non-existent counter play, and brand because he has no real identity at all)

But you brought up a very interesting point with an Echo Mage / Sound Mage and his name being Ekko - maybe his spells deal more damage the longer they travel and/or he has spells that bounce off things and deal increased damage as they do or just bounce off terrain for a longer distance spell and trick shots kind of like how echoes work- could be an interesting proposition having an exho/sound mage --- but a suicide mechanic i am going out on a limb and say 100% Riot wont do that, even though there are champions like Karthus who suicide in the middle of a team for his passive that is also completely different since it is more of a revenge passive for karthus dying rather than a direct suicide passive

Insta-buy if it is cause I love that guy. Although, based on his name, I think he might be like Rubick from Dota 2 and copy the enemy's abilities.

Rek'Sai and Gnar--- Riot has not released a mage in forever actually, which mages can go up top as well i guess and also support depending on their kits and how much utility they got on it

Reksai does not count, she is a jungler.

And Gnar came out last August. Hence almost a year.

As for mage, we got Azir in September.

We have gone longer without a real top laner, of any role.

after looking a bit it does indeed appear to be a mage. If the leaks are still true, his ult resets time by 4S. Also, he might be ezreals brother. So, a time mage that may or may not be ezreals brother....not zilean tho lol.

gossip leaks are usually never true --- but a sound mage i think may be Ekko, his name even rhymes with echo - i highly doubt riot will make another time mage, especially so close to Zilean's recent-ish changes, but that never has effect of when champions are released before so disregard that--- but a sound mage is sounding like a very good possibility

Both Kalista's and Rek'Sai's leaks turned out to be true, as well as the DJ Sona leak.

idk, but a sound mage i think would be super cool to have, personally, and a unique thing for the game

not like i say leaks do not come true - but looks like somebody at Riot may need to be fired for their loose lips (i think someone who leaked a screenshot from Smash 4 got fined and fired from Nintendo); but hey sht happens, but i try to not believe sht i hear until official announcements are made because hopes and dreams can be crushed --- but making speculations is always fun =P

Yeah, that reddit thread about his abilities seems kind of made up, especially that ult; so I take it with a grain of salt.
