Conqueror is only an issue for tanks.

I saw the topic earlier saying how good conqueror is compared to other runes. How it deals too much damage to squishy targets.

Guys, the only ones who see the huge issue are tanks because of how it functions. Remember, conqueror I'd a CONVERSION it is not an addition. So what happens is it bypasses some of the resistance of the target.

The greater the resistance, the greater the damage difference.

So if you had 100 ad with conqueror vs without at a resistance of 50% the damage difference is 60 (40 physical 20 true) vs 50.

This is a 20% damage increase.

If it is against a target with 20% rage reduction, then the difference is

84(64 a physical 20 true) vs 80. A 5% difference a difference which is very small compared to using say, lethal tempo, pta, DH, electrocute, arcane comet. And aery.

I get everyone is worried about conqueror, but unless you are facing a high resistance target there are better runes to use.

ummmmm.......ok so lane vs a tryndamere with conq he fills his fury and all ins you lvl 1 with 35% crit, and conq proc, conq gives him 6 ad, so he will have 86 adish, that can crit for 200% damage, even 30 armor stops 27% of ad damage, but with conq 10% is true, i have 2 shot a vlad lvl 1 with conq as tryn no ignite, its buffs ad then gives true damage, also with darius if you proc conq his bleed does true damage conq is very broken still it never should have been added, especailly when riot killed the tank meta

It's not that simple at all.

  1. Conqueror gives AD effective for both tanks and non-tanks

  2. Base armor EARLY and LATE is enough to where true damage heavily effects total damage. Let's take a look at the lowest level 1 base armor: Malzahar (It's actually Orianna in first place but she receives a healthy armor bonus from her E passive so I won't count her). Malzahar's level armor is 18 which comes in at about ~15% AD damage resistance. 15% may not seem like a lot that's being ignored but when you couple that with the fact that people in this armor range have lower starting health as well, you realize that conqueror is almost equally effective on tanks with high armor but high health and squishies with low armor and low health. Then we realize that the lowest level 18 armor value (not counting orianna or thresh for obvious reasons) is Azir with 70. That's a 41% damage reduction! So Conqueror is ignoring 41%!

  3. You also need to realize base true damage's greatest weakness: Health. Obviously tanks are gonna have a lot of this, meaning that conquerors true damage bonus actually gets less and less efficient and effective the more health a tank has.

So overall, conqueror is actually just as effective on both tanks and non-tanks. The reason I think Conqueror is unbalanced is because it completely broke The nicheness and diversity that was present when it came to picking runes on Melee, non-tank champions such as bruisers and melee assassins. Take Master Yi, Fiora, Jax, Darius, and Yasuo.

Without Conqueror, these champions would pick:

Darius- Undying Grasp or Phase Rush Master Yi- Subjective he used to go a bunch of different things FIora- Kleptomancy, Undying Grasp Jax- Press The Attack Yasuo- Press The Attack

Instead all these champions just end up going Conqueror because it provided excessive damage, something that will be picked over any gimmick utility such as Klepto or Phase Rush and will always outdamage Grasp or press the attack. If Conqueror could be used on ranged champions you'd see this same pattern. It's so busted even Draven runs it, because although it's significantly weaker, it still just gives such overbearing damage. No other rune provides such straight forward damage with no catch. Even Press The Attack, a similar rune with few catches such as CD and aimed at increasing DPS you to hit 3 different attacks before the bonus comes. Conqueror requires you to be in-combat and has absolutely no CD so you don't even need to hit any attacks you can just be in combat with minions, and as soon as you hit a champ, it's gonna proc so yeah this thing is gonna be on 100% of the time.

It also gives bonus AD also True damage is 100% for all Life Steal effects (even with AOE that normally is 33%)

On champs that take it 100% of the time like Yasuo and Tryn this bonus AD is x2 AND they also build item 3031 that gives another 10% converted to true damage for 30% that is not lowered by anything.
