What if Zeke's was an AD bonus instead of crit

Big Lincoln··11 votes·530 views

Now that ADCs get more crit than they did when Zeke's was reworked, I think this would be a good way to bring the item back. I have two different ideas for it on the direction it could go

Either making it a % multiplier like the AP bonus to encourage stacking a lot of it, if you want to benefit champions who invest heavily in the stat.

Or by making it a flat amount of AD scaling with level, which could give the person you link to some leeway to build defensively and rely on Zeke's to periodically make up for the AD you would have needed without it, or to keep building damage and get a stronger payoff.

what do you think, would this make Zeke's good again?

Problem is that then it's too strong to use with an assassin

the issue with item 3050 isnt that that active is "bad". its that the active is IMPOSSIBLE to use.

it has an extremely small range around half a screen and completely resets to zero if u leave it.

the "FIX" it needs to actually be made viable is to increase the range and have it NOT drop to ZERO when someone leaves range. and it also needs to maybe have a period of idk 5-10 seconds after max stats are reached where u can CHOOSE to activate it instead of it going off instantly

i myself have TRIED using it but you rally can't do it unless you are in constant voice chat with the person u linked it to. the stats it GIVES are useful and can EASILY turn a fight... its just the chance if they activating DURING a fight are so horrendously low and trying to do so is so hard to do that trying to actaully USE it when its up uslly make you force yourself into fight that are generally bad idea becuase you think you have an "advantage" when you really don't becuase you choose a horrible time to engage becuase the item says "fight now"

good point

the item should only activate vs champions

maybe it only stacks while in fights with champions, too, so it has a brief time limit before it pops off

I liked Zeke's herald. It was core in all of my gnar builds, and then they arbitrarily removed it to replace it with the most clunky item to exist in the game.

Zeke's Herald was an Aura item, which Riot has exterminated once and for all with the changing of Aegis of Legion and its upgrades.

The problem with Zeke's is that its actual useful part is an unreliable, time-reliant effect that can get wasted by trying to clear a wave.

It would be pretty impactful. It would become a lot better because it could be used to benefit anyone who builds AD instead of just someone who autoattacks. It would also have to be watched carefully or it could make AD casters cancerous botlane. EDIT: it wood

My idea is this: make the link give some bonuses statically.

Right now, the link does absolutely nothing when it's not stacked up, and while stacking it makes it a pretty decent item, it's kinda awful otherwise. So, here's the solution: make it give both you and the person you're linked to a small amount of static AP and AD, then when it stacks up, add in a % AP and AD bonus on top of the flat bonuses for a shorter duration. This makes the link not only more useful in general (being AD over crit), but also makes the item as a whole better.

also make the link only pop when in combat with enemy champions. not just combat.

zekes used to be AD instead of crit

Zekes was useless except for a few cases where it was abused... ashe would be abused with that so hard currently

but for the most part the item was trash

iirc wasn't it a lifesteal aura?

the problem with it at the time was that there were no supports who could actually use the stats it had, because IIRC it had the build path of a vamp scepter and a kindlegem. also it did nothing for AP champs

New Zeke's is actually fairly nice stat-wise, with armor, CDR and AP, most supports can use it quite well but the crit is wasted since ADCs frequently get 60-80% now and bruisers/fighters not named Yasuo would rather have AD.

This - no one ever built it when it was AD/lifesteal aura

i built it a lot

i would go gp support and rush it

back then he had raise morale + the ad bonus from zeke and you basically gave everyone a free bf sword & lifesteal

weird definition of no one in low elo it was never built

in high elo it was built in every single game with aegis

It'd be cool if they give a similar effect of Knights vow but with bonus ad or an on hit effect or something like that.

what if it could raise any major stat

ad/ap/armor/mr

depending on who is linked to it

or perhaps as a temporary buff you can activate at will

Harbinger's passive also needs to be easier to use in joint with a lane partner that you aren't duo'd with. Zeke's Harbinger loses its max charge once you hit 100 even if you don't use it, unlike every other charge-based entity in the game. It adds a counterintuitive timing element that makes it nigh-on-impossible to utilize in uncoordinated teams.

I think Attack Speed would be a better stat than AD, because a lot more champions than just ADCs build AD, while a lot of the same champions that benefit from critical strike chance also build attack speed. There is still an attack speed cap, but it's a lot harder to reach unless you build an extreme amount of attack speed.

item 3050 I really want to see this bad boy thrive in our Mage Support meta. It's jsut so hard to use right now, and as you pointed out, it's giving the adc a redundant stat.
