Preseason 10 made League way more boring.
I don't even know if I care enough for this game right now to write up something long about this, but this preseason is boring. I had hopes that the Dragon stuff would freshen up the game, that the dragon souls would be fun. But it's really just amounts to a lot of stagnation of strategy, one lane wins then it wins more and wins the game - More then ever I got the feel of the match being over even two minutes in - that is if botlane or jungle get some kills; they are just so influential and the dragons spawn so soon to get the ball rolling. The dragon souls it turns out were not fun, they were just oppressive win-more mechanics to close matches fast.
The new items aren't very interesting, there's no new runes just some fiddling. Where are 4 runes per slot? The game needs more viable runes, it needs more viable builds and champions - but most of all it needs more than one strategy or lane to win the game. All individual agency feels lost at mercy of the objective game, which is far more powerful.
For now I'm finding myself back in Dota 2, which also had a crazy update - it made the game really unpredictable, actually too much. But I'll take too much chaos over too much order. League feels rigid right now which is the worst thing a MOBA can do, where we have such variety of characters, items, and everything else; It's a waste when every game feels the same.
