Im getting realy sick of seeing Yasuo in every single damn game
Seriously, I think my last 10 games has had one in every single game
Seriously, I think my last 10 games has had one in every single game
This is what happens when you create a champ that automatically negates 50% of all champs and if he gets even 1 kill he snowballs harder than Kat and is actually easier to play too. Good champ design. Easier to play than Kat when fed, nearly useless when behind. GJ certainlyP
I dislike playing against Yasuo too, but lets not lie.
Yasuo is harder to play than Katarina. Thing is, he's bit more forgiving for making mistakes due to his wind wall & free shield.
You dont out play a Yasuo, you wait for him to outplay himself.
I wish we had signatures on this forum. Because this would be my "why people hate Yasuo" section.
Just beat a Yas, not because I outplayed him, but because he f'd up. And that's the issue here.
This is very true. Sometimes Yasuo gets super cocky or just miscalculate his dash and dashes under my turret without his minions end up eating 1-2 turret shots ( at lvl 1-3 that's like 50% of his hp) and I go in and collect a free kill and end up winning super hard against him from that 1 stupid move he did :P

Waiting for a player to make a mistake is the easiest way to win at league of legends. Luckly hard champions make it a lot easier.
Though fizz is probably not hard enough to use for how ridiculous his payoff is.
They are not at the same level as Yasuo.
No. they're worse. All of those champs are safer have higher payoffs and more tools than he does. Excluding azir they also have more room for error than he does
And I'm getting sick of ppl downvoting anything that contains "Yasuo" in it without shouting about how he is "bad, OP, overloaded, etc."
^ye this
seriously every time a nimble carry type champ is within the realm of strong->overpowered their playrate spikes to huge numbers. whenever ezreal is considered a top tier adc, even if he's not the strongest, he's within the top 3 most played champs. ahri has been a highly played champion ever since her release (although i might be downplaying the waifu factor; eh). zed, riven, yasuo, lee sin, all the prime targets of forum qq, they're FUN champions. i'll never understand all the salty nerd tears about them
With the exception of Lee, they're all lane bullies (which people dislike by default) that are seen far too often (and thus get stale really fast) and are infuriating to play against, moreso than 90% of other champions (obvious exceptions include: Yorick, Nunu, Heimer, etc.).
that's because people are sick of hearing how overloaded, OP, and broken he is. My advice for any champion that feels like toxic and annoying to play against, play as that champion yourself. You're quickly figure out their weaknesses real quick.
Just go draft pick and ban him
Blame the LCS. He's a fun champion to play, people saw Zion Spartan and were like YEAH I WANNA TRY.
This is a factor that many people don't consider. Yasuo is very enjoyable to play.
And pure cancer to play AGAINST.
That's always a pain, isn't it?
It must suck when you create a champion that's incredibly fun to play, but a pain in the ass to play against. Equally bad, imo, if you made a champion that isn't unfun to play against, but a bore to play.
Not going to talk shit against CertainlyT even if I don't like some of his champs, but I can see why champion design can be a bitch.
Yeah, I actually feel bad for him on the subject of Yasuo. I mean, he created one of the most satisfying, entertaining kits ever in a MOBA on a fantastically crafted character.....and the end product just so happens to be top-tier cancer to play against.
No sympathy on Kalista, though. That thing is obvious BS and shouldn't have made it out of concepting.
Tried playing Kalista once.
I don't want arthritis at a young age.
Do you actually try to play against him, or do you try to play like you're facing a regular midlaner and then get upset when it doesn't work?
Do you actually try to play against him, or do you try to play like you're facing a regular midlaner and then get upset when it doesn't work?
the thing is that you are outlying yas as "not a regular midlaner" which is an inherent problem.
You have to strategize. Wait out his shield. Bait his wind wall. Don't go in if he has his tornado up.
You know who has a kit that is perfect against Yasuo? Akali.
The challenge there is not being so far behind in farm by 6 that he does not have to fear you. He farms better and can zone you, so you have to freeze the lane just outside your tower and play passive. If you stay within 70-75% of his farm you will win lane (ignoring jungle interference).
You have to strategize. Agreed Wait out his shield. You can't really "wait" out his shield, unless you mean wait for it to deplete after hitting him. Do you mean harass out his shield? Problem is a lot of mages are mana gated. Most long range abilities are skill shots which he easily dashes out of. Most targeted and AoE skills are close to Yas' engagement range. Same applies to AA's. Heaven forbid you're near your minions, which increases Yas' engagement range significantly. It makes Harassing him incredibly difficult. Bait his wind wall. It's hard to bait a good Yas. The wind wall acts as an "oh shit" button. And he most likely won't use it unless you've already shown commitment. ***Don't go in if he has his tornado up. *** At lvl 1, steel tempest has a 4 second cooldown. It holds stacks for 10 seconds. That means he can effectively zone you for 10 seconds just by existing, with a 12 second CD. At level 1. Tempest gets 1.86% CDR per level from Yas's innate atk spd per level. That means the innate CD is 3.628 at level 6; a 10.884 second CD between zoning periods. Almost half your time spent in lane is effectively zoned by your recommendation. And I haven't even counted items yet!
***You know who has a kit that is perfect against Yasuo? Akali. *** Counter-picks, while a valid matrix for balance, do not make up for counter-play. And Riot has stated multiple times they don't want to see match-ups decided by champ select.
The challenge there is not being so far behind in farm by 6 that he does not have to fear you. So you beat him by [almost] matching his farm? Ok, that's fair. We're going with the assassin mentality. He farms better and can zone you, . . . {face palm} so you have to freeze the lane just outside your tower and play passive. Ok. So I just have to freeze lane and play passively against an assassin that farms better than me and has good zoning (and is also resistant to harass). [sarcasm]Nothing wrong with this picture.[/sarcasm] *** If you stay within 70-75% of his farm you will win lane (ignoring jungle interference).*** Being behind in CS isn't "winning" lane. At best, it's "holding" lane. This works fine for champs like Shen, Xerath, and Diana who can alter their play to compensate for reduced gold going into the mid game. But for others like Veriger, Viktor, Vel'koz, that gimped income can create a huge deficit.
And let's not forget, Yasuo (a "hyper carry" according to Riot) has early power spikes. His first one coming at 2500 gold (static Shiv), and the second at 6300 (Infinity Edge). That means he's getting his first major power spike while most mages are just solving their mana problems (Morello-2300, Rod of Ages-2700, Archangel's-3000) or finishing their defense items (Iceborn Gauntlet-2850, Zhonya's-3000, Rod of Ages-2700, Rylai's-3000).
Don't get me wrong. I'm not calling him OP. I'm also not saying he has no counter-play. But Yas' kit allows him to bypass his own weaknesses. He's squishy but has a low CD shield and his windall. He's short ranged but his high mobility. He's melee but with a long range hard CC zoning tool and [ult] initiation. He has to multi-hit minions with his Q, but has a long grace period and low CD to bypass mistakes. His ult requires a knock-up displacement, which he has on a 12 second minimal cooldown.
He has tons of safety nets built into his kt in case he makes a mistake. But he punishes enemies incomparably hard for making any.
This is not even a valid suggestion. Akali can be shop countered by either buying a pink ward, or upgrading your trinket into a pink ward totem. Her entire kit revolves around being able to manipulate windows in between her Q cool downs. Throw a Q, twilight shroud, wait for cd, R, auto, E, auto, Q again back into shroud.
Pink ward > Akali.
Maybe if he has a dedicated team, but not really. Its your fault if you feel you need to throw your entire combo into his wind wall or you want to proc his shield with your ultimate.
I mean honestly people, is it Yasuo or is it you guys' inability to adept?
Its either "throw your combo out and hope he doesnt wall it" or "lose all kill pressure in lane when playing certain champions".
When playing certain champions like Lux, its more about Yasuo making a mistake rather than any good play on your part. And while you can generally say "a counter can counter you. big deal", other counters can be manageable through outplaying the mechanics of the champion - like Zed, save your Q for when his ult animation lands behind you, Talon/Kat after they use their E to get behind you, or with Leblanc line up your Q toward her return pad.
He's a fun champion to play
That's subjective...
It's a shame that CertainlyT makes such compelling champions that people actually want to play. Fuck Thresh and Yasuo, we need more completely forgettable champions like Skarner and Galio.

It's funny because Galio's actually doing pretty well lately, just nobody plays him.
So are Skarner and Kayle. It just so happens that they're the kind of champs that unless they're completely dominant, no one gives a shit about them. Especially Skarner. Poor guy.
So are you saying, that if yasuo started to deal half of his current damage, he'd still be played because of "fun"? Cause stats before his buffs state otherwise. You'd think people actually spammed champs until they memorize all their dialogue cause they're "fun".
Obviously the champion needs to be viable if people are going to play it. You want to know the real reason Yasuo dropped off? Pros stopped playing him and everyone was convinced he was terrible. The meta was horrible to him for a very long time. Suddenly, the meta shifts, Yasuo is in favor again, pros start playing him again, and all the Yasuo players come out of the woodwork. I've been maining Yasuo since before he was gutted in 4.18. The only buff he got that was really substantial was in 4.21. Everything he's gotten since then has had little to no impact on his overall strength as a champion. You know what makes Yasuo look good though? Mid lane mages like Veigar, Lux, and Ahri being the dominant meta picks and adcs like Vayne and Jinx being the dominant adcs. This is an extremely favorable meta for Yasuo and he doesn't deserve to be nerfed because he's strong in the 1 meta that asssassins don't dominate mid lane. When champions like Zed, Fizz, Akali, and Cho start showing up mid again, Yasuo will start to disappear again. But in a meta where Lux, Veigar, and Ahri are the 3 most played mid laners, Yasuo isn't going anywhere.
So people are playing him because he's strong, and not because he's fun or fun doesn't matter unless the champ is already viable (strong). Are you trying to agree with me?
He's seeing a lot of play because:
It's not an either or scenario. He's really enjoyable to play, the pros are inspiring other people to play him, and his matchups on average are probably the most favorable they've ever been. That doesn't seem too hard to understand.
You said that for a champ to be played, he needs to be viable. Points 2-4 reflect this.
Fun is merely a multiplier at best or completely irrelevant to popularity at worst.
Point 1 by itself is not nearly a good enough reason to play Yasuo, as shown by the stats when he was considered trash.
tl;dr Yasuo and other "fun" champs are just as forgettable if they don't have stats coming from nowhere/favourable meta.
You set far too low of a bar on forgettable. You know who's really forgettable?
. All champions that see basically no play the moment they're out of the spotlight.
was faily popular even when he was thought to be bad. However, he, along with champs like
, are always on the precipice of going from somewhat popular to extremely popular the moment the spotlight hits them. Even at his lowest point, Yasuo was never below a 10% pick rate or so. He's just a really compelling and very enjoyable champion.
Or because he's literally always cancer to play against and never nerfed to oblivion.(although harsh, not as bad as a gutting) Like those other three.
You never played Yasuo at the end of season 4. Or at all, which makes your grasp of his state of balance particularly fascinating. You sound exactly like one of those people that complains endlessly about a champ that you never play and never have played. You wanna know how to learn how to beat a champion? Play them a few times and get your ass kicked. No champion seems as annoying or OP to play against after you've played them a bit yourself.
Perhaps, but everyone i've ever griped about that I had the misfortune of playing turned out to be just as bs as I thought except for quicktime event champs. I'd imagine if you had the nerve to survive those it would be super duper easy. You don't need to play a champ that's horrid on paper to know if it's horrid in game. Oh and as annoying doesn't mean still isn't horrible to play against or any less OP.
Other than my last comment, I merely reasoned about your posts or used stats, not personal opinions.
If anything i bless the player who takes these popular champs, so i have mine underplayed champs to pick and i feel special, 'different' if you will.
Besides, Yasuo is perhaps my favorite champ to lane against..so squishy: He has no gap closer, big cooldowns, not a single target spell, pretty dodgeable skills and unless he builds phantom early in the game he has poor mobility. I much, MUCH rather face him over Fizz, LB or Riven (which are OP in my opinion) anyday.
This is probably one of the worst/inaccurate statements I have ever seen. -he is not squishy with his passive -infinite gap closer -unless u have the reaction time of a cat, u won't dodge his Q. Q3 yes, as a skillshot. But a good yasuo will EEEEEEE then land the easy Q. -low ass cooldowns -0% of yasuo plays get a pd

He is not squishy, but he isn't tanky either. Without his shield he is pretty easy to burst down and it's not like that shield isn't easy to break.
This is probably also one of the most inaccurate statements i have ever seen.
How low ranked are you? I mean his W is literally the only skill with a sizable cooldown, his shield and the fact that everyone builds triforce second on him makes him less squishy then most AD caster types, he has infinite gap closers on an ability with no cooldown, a near undodgable Q since it's mainly an extended auto when used right, no Yasuo ever builds PD ever at all, and two of the items most people do in fact build on him everytime give a ton of movespeed as well, meaning he does in fact have good mobility coupled with a gap closer with no cooldown.
Do I think he's OP? Not really, he's just an annoyance due to how overloaded and easy his kit is, I'm only saying this cause you are horribly wrong on just about everything you stated about him lol

Yasuo is not an AD caster, and Triforce doesn't really make him tanky, Triforce gives a very small amount of HP and that is not enough to make anyone tanky.
Never said it made him tanky, not once did I make that claim, just look up and you'll see "makes him less squishy then most AD caster types."
Also the current Yasuo playstyle and item builds make him more of an AD caster then an assassin or fighter, his Q being his main source of damage for most the game and that being an AD ability. AD casters are those who deal damage with their abilities and build AD items, like Yasuo for most the game.
The BotRK build makes him more of a fighter and the full crit burst build makes him more of an assassin, currently the main builds make him more of an AD caster. That's why I said "AD caster TYPES," in that he can be many different things based on his items mainly due to how overloaded his kit is in general.
I'm going to enjoy the rise of Akali again soon, I think.
And then, I'm going to really hate Akali being popular again. The circle of meta.
Doubtful.
I think Riot is honestly sick and tired of constantly trying to balance
and having her either obnoxious or useless. Seems like they just threw in the towel this time and decided to leave her useless from now on until rework.
If only they could give
the same treatment. But no, after 3 glorious patches of LB being useless, they decided we all wanted to see her in our games again and reverted half her nerfs.
Akali
will
never
be
good
An Akali that even skills her Shroud at all vs Yasuo is doing it wrong. She beats him with pure early game stats along with the complete neutralization of his windwall.
