Why do you lock low levels out of temp game modes?
Seems kind of lame that they can't join in the fun... they only come around so often and they might miss out if they don't level fast.

I think the idea is "We don't want these featured game modes to be a new player's first impression of the game." Which makes sense, because they don't really try too hard to balance out these modes for the sake of keeping them fun for the short time they're available.
So say if a new player played, say, URF as their very first game of League of Legends ever, the game mode was so imbalanced and with different rules (i.e. Spam to your hearts content) than 'standard' League of legendsthat going into a 'normal' game afterwards would be very different (You have to actually manage cooldowns and mana).
League has pop ups that give info to new players. They could include one that says pretty much what you just said.
Yeah, but you have to admit, it's one thing to be told something, and another thing altogether to experience something in-game. Especially if our rhetorical new player has never played a game of League before, and therefore wouldn't know what to expect.
Like, I understand the basic mechanics of jungling and ganking, but in practice I'm still a horrible jungler who couldn't get a kill out of a gank to save my life (or my teammate's life, for that matter). I can understand that I need to conserve my mana on certain champions, but I still feel the need to spam a skill for poking everytime it's off cooldown.
EDIT: Reading that back to myself, I'm not entirely sure those examples were all that relevant to the conversation =\
I still believe temp game modes are the most fun you will have in league, and playing one might give them something to look forward to and keep playing.
ex message: Welcome to the Snowdown! This is a temporary game mode. Temporary game modes are our gift to the community and made to break the tension of playing standard games. HAVE FUN!
Also the probability of there being at least one smurf in the first game someone jumps into is 99%. It would probably be way more enjoyable to play Snowdown than have to go through the misery of playing vs someone who has been playing for years in a normal.
You say that as if you believe smurfs wouldn't play Snowdown too.
Of course they would. So, there is no difference and they should be able to play the mode.
The point is win or lose you generally have more fun in temp modes.

But why they don't allow us to play such games with our low lvl friends? This is dumb.
Its mostly for the sake of other players. Chances are, if you're low leveled, then you really don't know the game or its champions that well. And while the point of the mode is to have fun, it would be a burden on a team if one of its members needed to have multiple things constantly explained to them.
That would happen if matchmaking was broken as crap by putting a level 5 with 4 level 30s,2 of which are bronze & diamond, against a team of challengers.
If you got matched with people at similar, the "burden" problem wouldn't too much of a problem for other players since everyone else is trying to understand things as well.
I think the reason for the level lock is more because they used the howling abyss map. You said the level req is 6-7 which is the same level(or around at least) that you said the poro king map has. All the other game modes were on SR and one on dominion(idk if this one had a level req) which is probably why this was never a problem. Also to me it seems easier for RIOT to just leave the normal ARAM level req then have to go into it and change it. Besides level 6-7 isn't THAT hard to get to.
yeah, the MMR should be designed to match them with each other anyway. so a bunch of lv 13-17s should be able to snowdown with each other for instance.
What level do you have to be to get into special game modes? I reached level 30 right before original OFA's (not the Howling Abyss version) came out so I don't have the experience.
Normal 5v5 Summoner’s Rift will open up at level 3. ARAM 5v5 Howling Abyss will open up at level 6. Co-op vs. Bots 3v3 Twisted Treeline will open up at level 5. Normal 3v3 Twisted Treeline will open up at level 7. Normal 5v5 Dominion will open up at level 7. Ranked 5v5 Solo/Duo Summoner's Rift will open at level 30 and when you acquire at least16 champions. Ranked Teams 5v5 Summoner's Rift and 3v3 Twisted Treeline will open at level 30, once you acquire at least 16 champions and create a ranked tea
6 or 7
lol I mean actual modes like OFA, URF, and Poro King. I know about all of those. It's been over a year since I reached level 30, and I want to remember what level was required to play limited time game modes.
I don't know either because I have been playing sense 2010 but it is probably around 6-7. They didn't lock out anything or force you to play bots when I started.
Mostly in Hide and Seek if they do not have enough champions to do draft.
