They dominate the support role, at all elos, for over years now Yeah some other champion may gain popularity (Janna, Bard) but they end up getting nerfed while tanky supports continue to make up 90% of picks in the game
there are 2 other support classes, poke and utility what no one ever seems to play Would have thought something would have been done about the situation by now

And the only reason she's doing so well is because disengage counters all-in. If tanky supports weren't doing so well, she wouldn't be either.
Yaskamasandwich1 votesJust guessing from a hunch from the nerfs tanks constantly recieve and Riot's view on tanks (not becoming a wall regardless of 6 defense items including boots. I agree that tanks should not deal damage but it should take more than about 3 seconds to kill a 6 item tank late game.) Riot wants all tanks to become supports. Not sure what would result the future of utility supports. But at least Soraka, and Janna are still awesome.
